Hello, I'm Sylvia, an active and adventurous Luxury Travel Professional from the US who prefers to visit off the beaten path locations and LOVES the company of furry friends while I travel. I have always had pets (currently we have three rescues: a young Chocolate lab named Scarlett, a Yorkie named Gracie, and a goofy Labradoodle named Charlie. We also have a hamster, a bird, and two goldfish.
With more than 10 years experience caring for other people's pets and homes, as well as our own (we have owned our large Dallas, TX home for more than 20 years), I feel confident in offering my services to care for yours.
I am a mom, and wife of more than 29 years, who along with my family has lived in Boston, San Francisco, Houston and now back home to Dallas. We love the thrill of traveling to experience the culture and beauty of new locations. Last year alone our travels have taken us to Scotland and Ireland, Cambodia & Vietnam, as well as France, England and Mexico.
My daughter is as big an animal lover as I am, and has assisted with many of my pet sits in the past. She is a very mature 16 year old who has traveled extensively. I believe for some pets, two females in non-dominant roles may be a little less stressful in their home while their parent(s) are away. We are also very active as fosters for our local Labrador Retriever rescue.
I feel as comfortable caring for your horse, goat, and/or chickens as I do caring for your large or small dog(s), and/or cat(s). With a medical background, medication and or treatments are never a problem.

Why I want to house sit
In short, I LOVE ANIMALS and travel!
Renting an apartment has proven to be an excellent way to travel, as it allows me to get to know an area more like a local. But, caring for a pet while enjoying a new location gives me the opportunity to really experience my surroundings from a different perspective. I miss our pets so very much when I travel, and would love to share my affection with your sweet little ones while providing you with peace of mind that your home and pets are well cared for.

As a former pre-med major I would feel confident in assessing any health concerns that may arise, and would also feel comfortable ensuring the utmost safety and care of your home and pet(s).
As a homeowner for more than 20 years, I would want to have someone in my home who cared as much as I do about its contents. Please know that as your guest, we will do our very best to leave things equal to, if not better than when we arrived.
I have been screened locally, and globally, for your peace of mind and protection.
Please know that I take this responsibility very seriously, and would be happy sharing frequent e-mail and/or phone updates while you are away.

Couldn't have been happier with Sylvia and her daughter staying with our pups and bearded dragon. Since we had a new puppy, I requested daily updates and it was great to get them. We loved seeing the photos and hearing how well everything was going.

Sylvia was very attentive to our rules with our pets and our need for consistency with the puppy. Her daughter jumped right in to help with our bearded dragon who was much happier at home rather than the reptile boarding.
The house was super clean when we arrived back home which says a lot with a puppy who has plenty of energy. We would love to have Sylvia back for our next adventure!- Organised

Sylvia was the perfect house sitter and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Our animals and house were so well looked after that I think they would have loved it if she had stayed longer! Thank you and I feel as though I have made a new friend.

Sylvia is the best sitter you could hope to find.
She was so sweet and kind to our cat. He missed her for days.
She left our home in immaculate condition!
She was very clear on everything and extremely trustworthy.
A very nice person. Her daughter came with her and she was just as nice.
