Dog sit, 1-27 Jan, Northbridge, Sydney, 2 big groodles
Looking for someone to look after our 2 groodles (big dogs) and house for 4 weeks (Monday 1 January - saturday 27 January).
We are a family of 4 (daughter aged 10 and son aged 12) plus our 2 dogs. Wanting to keep our dogs in our home environment while we travel. They are used to company so looking for someone who intends to be home a reasonable amount of time, in particular evenings. Our dogs more or less go where they want in our house (including sofa) so would need someone who is comfortable with this. More on dogs below.
Our Home & Location
Our house is conveniently located in the beautiful suburb Northbridge. Walk to shops and restaurants, pub, golf, parks, Northbridge baths, city bus, and 10 minutes drive to Sydney city centre. There are tennis courts across the road. Our home is old as we bought it earlier this year to knock it down and rebuild. But it is absolutely still liveable, it’s just not at all modern. (Good news is though, if you become a regular sitter for us we will have a beautiful home to pet sit in around a year or so). Current house has a large lounge area, 3 bedrooms and a study. We have PC, wifi, Netflix, Stan, PS4, trampoline, board games etc..
Responsibilities & Pets
Our dogs are very big, friendly, loveable, young dogs (aged 2 and 3), that require walking every day. Dave is 3 and is a very laid back, gentle giant who will love you if you feed him his favourite food each evening (he’s not greedy at all, but very fussy). He wouldn’t hurt a fly. Poppy is 2 and is full of energy and requires a long walk every day to expend her energy. If she doesn’t get walked she barks more often and in the middle of the night (but if she is walked she won’t bark during the night). There are plenty of nice walks close by to walk the dogs on lead. A place in our suburb called Clive Park has a very mini beach and we mostly walk them there each day and they have a swim before we head back home. Poppy pulls on the lead the whole way when you walk her, so you would need some strength and some would find her frustrating. You have to be more careful with Poppy if you take her to a dog park off lead if there are aggressive dogs there as she will fight back if a dog has a go at her, whereas Dave would shy away.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
Look after our groodles:
- take them for an hour walk each day
- keep your belongings off the floor (so Poppy doesn’t chew them :-)
- feed them twice daily
- be home to keep them company for a reasonable amount of time each day, must stay overnight every night
- keep house clean and tidy
