Charming Bungalow Centrally Located in Historical City of Ipswich with Maggie (pet dog) in Residence
Hi fellow travellers...Thankyou to all the wonderful people who have offered to look after our lovely dog Maggie and sit our home.
Our family loves to travel and we have been fortunate to have traveled extensively over the years. We have completed a number of successful house-sits over time in Paris, Zurich, Scotland, and London. We are very respectful and mindful of other people's properties and possessions as I am sure anyone who stays in our home will be with ours. We love animals, and our family has been fortunate to have known a number of wonderful pets over the years. At this time, Maggie has been part of our family for over eleven years. She is a home body and loves her own backyard. Maggie is loving, kind, gentle, fit and healthy. We look forward to all enquiries and cannot wait to hear from prospective home swappers/pet lovers - happy and safe travels from my family to yours....
Our Home & Location
Our house is centrally located in a quiet and safe leafy street which is situated on the fringe of Queen and Limestone Parks, including the beautiful Nerima Japanese Gardens with lovely cascading waterfalls. We are very close to the city centre. There are wonderful open outdoor wildlife parks and a petting zoo hosting many of our native animals including Dingoes, Kangaroos and Bilbies just to name a few. Queens park also hosts a lovely open air Wedding Bush Chapel and cafe. Limestone Park has fantastic bike and walkways where pet owners can walk their pets and exercise equipment scattered along the walking and cycling tracks, all park amenities are free. Limestone Park also offers hot air ballooning on the weekends and a myriad of sporting and community activities. We are very close to major shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, nightlife, medical facilities, major hospitals, university, art museums, and library. No, we don't have a pool to maintain but we are very close to swimming pools, water parks and gymnasiums for both kids and adults alike.
Our home is character filled and charming, clean and cosy, warm and welcoming. There are three large bedrooms all freshly refurbished. We can step out onto a large private balcony surrounded by 100-year-old trees and see and hear the chirping of many kinds of birds. Our home provides everything needed for a relaxing stay including luxury bed linens and towels, an assortment of luxury pillows with fresh mattress and pillow protectors. Equipped with a modern kitchen with all the latest gadgets, modern bathroom, air conditioning and heating. Also, large smart television with cable tv, Netflix amongst others, unlimited wifi, office space with the computer if needed. There is also an assortment of large and small toys for children if required.
Ipswich, the city of Churches, is home to over 6000 historical sites and 500 parks and gardens. In August/September, Ipswich and surrounding areas host the yearly Jacaranda Festivals for garden enthusiasts and the world renown Railway Workshops Museum and Steam Train rides for train enthusiasts. We also have 2 major universities, one of which I attend, so could offer our home for students who wish to stay for University residencies). Please check out the web sites below......
We are less than 40 minutes to beaches, and 1 hour to many major tourist attractions (remember Australia is a vast country, so an hour is quite a short distance) and 25 minutes to Brisbane, Queensland's capital city. Brisbane city offers many attractions including Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, South Bank Parklands, 4x brewery, major art galleries, museums and concert facilities. The beautiful Sunshine Coast with Moreton and Fraser Islands (to name just two) have great fishing and snorkelling, and Steve Irwin's famous Australia Zoo to the North. Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise, including Dreamworld, Movie world, Wet and Wild amusement Parks, Lamington National Park for bushwalking, Mount Tamborine for Art lovers, and the oddly shaped Glasshouse mountains to the South. To the West, the Granite Belt, a region which is Queensland's primary wine-producing region, hosts a number of Wineries, Breweries and Outback Museums and authentic outback pubs. All this with miles and miles of sugar cane fields and white sandy beaches, there is more to do and see in this region than anyone could see in one holiday. Also, within an hours drive, the magnificent mountain ranges known as the 'Scenic Rim' with magnificent views into the valleys below, all serviced by major motorways and highways. Ipswich is in fact right in the hub to so many more attractions.
Public transport is close to our door just around the corner on the next street and of course a number of reliable taxi services. There are rail and bus services to all tourist attractions including Gold and Sunshine coasts and to other areas driving out west. + More info
