Magpie Hill, Angaston
We've had our lovely 20 acre property for nearly 30 years, having moved here when our children were quite young. We're very pleased with how it's developed over the years although it's always a work in progress. We mainly need someone to look after the dog who is a VERY well behaved young Red Heeler and is never happier than when he's with someone. All other animals are relatively low maintenance and we have family who will help care for them but Rufus needs someone to stay here with him. Apart from the property in general, our interests include horses, gardening, music, motorbikes, to name a few.
Our Home & Location
We're in a rural setting, five minutes drive from Angaston in the famous Barossa Valley. It's a very comfortable old stone home with quite a large garden. There's lots to do in the region without having to travel far. We have no close neighbours, however they're always there if we need them. There are mostly mixed farms in our area with vineyards, sheep and cattle. Within the gently rolling countryside, our house is on a hill giving us a great view of the often beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Needless to say the night sky can also be spectacular.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main focus is Rufus the dog who loves company and will no doubt miss us. He's extremely well behaved but a kennel stay is not an option for him. There would also be some watering to do in the garden in warm weather. The cat is very low maintenance and spends time both inside and outside. Loves to sit on a lap in the evening though! The old Cocky just requires feeding once a day. The horses would require feeding once or twice a day (depending on the time of year) and would be out in a large paddock. Our daughter who lives nearby is keen to come in from time to time to check on them. Our son also lives nearby and would be available as necessary.
