Three charismatic cats and a garden in need of your loving care!
Hey there, I'm a 44 year old High School Drama teacher (when I'm performing myself, I'm a puppeteer). I'm heading to Sydney for the Festival for a few days. Seeking someone to look after my 3 beautiful cats and possibly throw some water around on the garden if the heat spikes.
Our Home & Location
Nunawading is approximately 23 km from the CBD (about 25 min by car in light traffic). I live in the last unit in a row of 8 (which backs onto a local, small park). Whilst I live here on my own, it could easily accommodate a couple. The neighbours are all really friendly and approachable. There is a car port should you need but I also live a 2 min walk away from Nunawading train station (it's an underground station so there aren't any bells and you can't hear the trains pass by). The train line takes you straight into the city (express at either end of the day). I'm also really close to the Eastern Freeway which makes passage to the airport quite swift.
The unit has one small bedroom with a king sized bed in it. A front lounge / writing area and an open plan kitchen / lounge area (with an excellent electric stove and gas cook tops, plus mini dishwasher). I have no tv or aerial port but excellent wi-fi and a digital projector if you wish to hook it up to your computer to watch a bigger screen. The main area is heated / cooled with a split system. There are smaller oil heaters in the other rooms if you need them. The bathroom has a walk in shower (no bath) and the laundry has a trough and washing machine (no dryer but the laundromat is a 2 min walk away)....
I have a native garden down the side of the house, a herb garden and a lot of pots so (when it's not raining) there is a bit of watering to do but the garden is beautiful and can be enjoyed sitting out on the deck on the outdoor lounge or from the hammock if you like. I'm very close to a couple of shopping centres for grocery shopping (and both have cinemas) and I'm in walking distance to the Whitehorse Performing Arts Centre which houses a monthly Farmer's Market and regular theatre. Some local cafes, local yoga studio, local gyms. Easy access bike tracks for recreational riding or daily transportation. It's a beautiful home in a very quiet neighbourhood. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Two feeds a day (time can be flexible). A bit of grooming every now and again and a little bit of playing every now and again. I have a really lovely neighbour who can come down and feed them if you find you can't do it once in a while. The vet is quite close by should you need (as is the Emergency Vet Hospital). All food and litter etc.. will be delivered to the door regularly. If it's hot a few days in a row, the garden will also need some watering. The two main gardens have a drip feed system so you can just turn it on and do other things, but the back garden does need manual attention. A couple of indoor plants will need watering once.
