Puppy/House Sit in beautiful Maldon
We are seeking a sitter to look after our adorable puppy, chooks and garden. We like to travel and take short trips regularly. The dates of our Dec/Jan sit can be flexible, so please get in touch.
Our Home & Location
Our home is in beautiful Maldon in central Victoria. It is an easy 20 minute walk to the main street, or 1 minute drive. Maldon is a lovely town with cafes, pubs, gift shops and lots of history. Our home is very close to bush walks and the golf course.
Maldon is 30 minutes drive to Bendigo, 15 minutes to Castlemaine, 1.5 hours to Melbourne....
It's a modern 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. Our sitter would have access to a queen size bed, and an air mattress can be provided. We have a big kitchen and open plan living area with wood fire for chilly nights. We also have a treadmill and weights available, and we can leave 2 bikes available if required. We may also be able to leave a car available for our sitter.
We live on a half acre block with a large lawn area and veggie patch. We have 6 chooks and a friendly little puppy. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have a new puppy called Lucky. She is currently 9 weeks old (born 12 July) so we're all getting settled into a routine. She spends her days in a run outside, and currently sleeps inside in our garage. She will let you know when she needs to go outside at night, and this is likely to only be once a night.
She loves to fetch and run around outside, and in between she sleeps a lot. She eats twice a day. We are looking for a sitter who will make the time to play with her, feed her, be happy to take her out/in during the night, and treat her like part of the family. As she is still very young, she has only received her first vaccination so cannot socialise with other dogs yet.
We also have 6 friendly chooks. They have an automatic feeder, so they just need their water topped up each day and the eggs collected. They can be let out to range in the garden, but may need to be shooed out of the veggie patch! Our sitter is very welcome to eat the eggs collected....
Our garden needs to be watered during summer. The lawn has sprinklers so these just need to be turned on for 20 minutes every few days. The veggie patch will need daily watering in the hot summer months, but currently (september) it doesn't require any attention. We have several sprinklers so these just need to be moved around. Over summer the garden will need 1-2 hours of watering daily, before 10am or after 6pm. If there are veggies ready in the patch, our sitter is welcome to eat these. + More info
