Annette of Frankston
We are retired, We mainly join in our children's lives and follow grandchildren in football..karate..gymnastics..ballet..basketball and soccer . We have a small garden, and enjoy watching the birds in the birdbath and the flowers as they come and go. My name is Nicki (Penny's Mum) and have severe rheumatoid arthritis, so our home is quite disability friendly, but also very normal, Laini is (Penny's Dad) and he is the one who walks Penny twice a day. We have a groomer come to the house, and our Vet is only 5 mins away . We go up North every year for a couple of weeks or more, and Penny went to a carer whom she loves, but Penny has Cushings and we feel she would be happier at home now . I don't know any one person who doesn't love Penny, the vet adores her, her groomer does too... even our pet free neighbors have fallen in love with her, all she asks of you is love, cuddles and of course her dinner and slow walks.
Our Home & Location
We live on the edge of the Mornington peninsula, so there are wonderful places to visit, many are public transport friendly, many many winery’s in the area, and the Red Hill markets ...the Frankston RSL is 5 mins away,...great meals....shops nearby and a bus stop almost opposite our place which takes you to Frankston station, from there you can go to the city by train, or get the peninsula bus to Dromana, Rosebud even Portsea. . Our unit is very secure. Two bedrooms, a study, bathroom and en suite, dining area and lounge, remote entrance to garage...Bonaire, plus air conditioner... central heating throughout , it is not a retirement village , but mainly older people live here, (60 plus), it is a quiet haven for writers and those who need to study, with beaches and restaurants nearby when it’s time out. Great walks to take, and gorgeous views from Oliver’s hill for camera happy people. A very comfortable home to just curl up with a TV in both bedrooms and lounge...also Foxtel and Netflix.
Responsibilities & Pets
Penny is a Bichon frise, she is 11 years old and has Cushings, which interferes with her cortisone levels, she is under vet care and fairly controlled, she also has arthritis, and has monthly injections to control it....this will all be done before we leave, her grooming will be done also.... She has medication with breakfast and with dinner.... The medication is probably the the most work you have to do for her, I prepare most meals for her, so all you have to do is take one container out each morning to defrost...but now and then we treat her with roast chicken from Coles, which we will leave plenty of money to cover any expenses that may arise. She has her bed in the lounge, but generally likes to be near whoever is here ,she loves company, and if you love her enough she loves to sleep on your bed, when she is not sleeping, she loves sitting at the front door and greeting one and all... (if it is not too cold to have the front door open)....We have a dog door for her to go outside when we are out, and she only barks if someone comes to the door,or if dogs go past in the park walk opposite. A lovely natured dog. Some of our family live in Frankston Sth’ and Mt’ Eliza, and are only a phone call away, willing to help whenever you call Re directions... shopping...information etc Sadly they can’t mind Penny,as they all have stairs, and that doesn’t suit Penny.
