Large Inner Northern Renovated Home
We are a busy young family of five who love our home but also love to get away for short breaks....
Our inner suburban home is large and comfortable, recently renovated with two affectionate dachshunds and seven adorable chooks, as well as lots of books, games and Netflix for nights in. People say our home is very welcoming and has a lovely 'feel' to it, with the No.11 tram at the end of the street. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our home is relaxed and friendly, with period and retro features, rustic timber furniture and an eclectic mix of antiques, industrial and art deco furnishings.
The house itself has five bedrooms and sleeps up to 7 with a huge renovated bathroom with big shower and claw-foot bath. Master at rear of house has ensuite. Large, light-filled lounge/kitchen/meals room - table seats 8/9 people....
As the majority of the house is recently finished, the outside is still being completed - so the garden is not very flash - except that it holds 7 lovely chooks! There's reverse cycle heating cooling in the living area, and central gas heating in bedrooms for cooler months.
We are located in the Inner Northern suburb of Preston West, about 20 mins by car into the centre of Melbourne, or 30-40 minutes on the tram direct to bustling Collins Street, the heart of the city. The tram is approximately 200 metres from our front door. Very family and couple friendly area - cafes, shops, bike paths along Merri Creek. Very safe and welcoming community. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
When we go away we need someone to care for our beloved pets in the morning and at night - and keep the home fires burning, so the house continues to appear 'lived in'.
Henry and Sampson ('the boys') just need letting out and feeding first thing, then letting out for a run in the evening and putting to bed in their room at night. They'd love you to be around during the day or take them for a walk - but they don't NEED it. A few cuddles will be very much appreciated....
Our 7 gorgeous feathered ladies ('the girls') have a big run for daytime, and take themselves to bed at night. They need feeding as early as possible in the morning (7-10am) and their water checked, cleaned out or topped up as needed. Any scraps and some seed are fed to them once or twice a day - and their water needs refilling every three days or so. Collecting (and eating) the 2-3 eggs a day is always a joy!
Apart from that, relax and enjoy + More info
