Mornington Peninsula. Experienced dog lover needed for sweet, sensitive Hungarian Vizsla from Sat June 22nd 2019 - Sat July 27th 2019
We are looking for a kind, caring and loving sitter who really understands dogs, to look after our 11 year old Hungarian Vizsla, Mia. She is a sensitive soul and can tend to being a bit anxious so we are looking for a housesitter who will be kind and gentle with her. She is an inside dog and being left alone all day is not ideal. If you prefer to care for a dog at arms length this assignment won't suit you but if you are experienced and delight in funny, sweet-natured dogs you will see from her references that she will capture your heart. :)
Our Home & Location
We live in Mount Eliza, gateway to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Beautiful surf & bay beaches, undulating vine & orchard covered hills, vineyard restaurants, excellent local produce, impressive wineries, championship golf courses, peninsula hot springs & so much more. A trip into Melbourne is about 50 mins by car or an easy hour by train. To get to the heart of the Mornington Peninsula takes about 20-30 mins and only 5-10 mins to Mount Eliza Village and Main St of Mornington local restaurants & beaches.
Our house is a large house on 2/3 acre with a pool and surrounded by plenty of bushland. You will need a car to get around.
Responsibilities & Pets
To care for Mia while we are away .
Mia was diagnosed with a mass on her spleen in the middle of last year so she has daily medication (mostly just mixed into her food) and eyedrops that need to be given. She is not unwell per se but ideally requires someone who is not away from home all day, someone confident and experienced with dogs and comfortable knowing she may need an unexpected visit to the vet. Otherwise she is no trouble and the only other thing she needs is a small walk a couple of times a day and lots of love.
