Town & Country
Frank and I have been living in our home since just before we retired. As Frank had been brought up on a farm and we had always loved gardening this property has given plenty of scope for the best of both worlds. We have room for a low care big garden, breeding chickens and Australian finches and plenty of room for our dogs.
We do also like to travel and get away for short breaks throughout the year to catch up with family and friends. Our current house sitter has had health issues recently so we heard about Trusted Sitters and decided to give it a try.
Our Home & Location
Our property is a 5 acre block only about 8 minutes from Wodonga.
Our comfortable home is set in a peaceful valley. The house is all on one level and is surrounded by bird friendly, low care gardens. We have several aviaries where we breed native finches....
In the paddocks surrounding the house and garden we have 5 alpaca, chickens and ducks.
A car is a necessity if you want to go into town or travel the the many tourist attractions in the area including Wineries and the Hume Weir or nearby historic towns. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We would need the house sitter to care for the dogs and the other farm animals. The alpacas require minimal care and the poultry need to be let out of their pens each morning and locked up at night besides checking feed and water and egg collection daily. The birds need to be checked as well for food and water. The shelties sleep in the garage whereas Dodge sleeps inside.
