1 weeks in a lovely Canadian village!
I am a retired nurse and my husband is a retired Anglican priest. We are planning a trip to a reunion in Vancouver and need sitters for our home and cats. We spent the first part of our married life in the Vancouver area and 20 years in the Yukon ending up in Cyprus for 5 years. We keep busy with volunteer work; John is a chaplain for the RCMP and I am on a number of Boards. We have a son and his family living in Barrhead and a daughter in Yellowknife. We also have travelled a lot, sometimes for work and sometimes for pleasure. I have done 3 trips to disaster areas to offer medical assistance. We retired to rural Alberta to be near our grandsons and other family. We love living in our little town!
Our Home & Location
Jarvie is a village 30 min from the town of Westlock and 1.5 hour drive to the BIG city of Edmonton. Life here revolves around grain and mixed farming, big fields of lovely yellow canola, some cattle and a fair amount of mixed bush. We get lots of birds to the feeders and Canada Geese on the river about 500 meters from the house. It is not unusual to see moose, coyotes and deer and we even have a bison herd at a farm nearby. There is a large lake at the Provincial park within driving distance with opportunities for hiking, swimming and bird watching. Our home is at the edge of the village, we have a vegetable garden which we will plant when we get home. There is a solar panel array in the front yard which needs no maintenance at all.
There are lots of cultural activities in Edmonton but we find quite enough in the local area to keep us busy....
We do not smoke and would like a sitter who does not either. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
All three are in need of regular brushing, the long haired ones a bit more. They need feeding, water and cleaning litter trays, they never go outside. Two of them need regular medication for arthritis mixed with the wet food given once a day. They will all need lots of petting and spoiling!
