The only drawback is leaving our dog - who we call the giant golden. Our home is set up for the sitter who loves to cook, read , relax, work out and loves the outdoors . Responsibilities & Pets
Opie loves to walk or run but no more than 10 km. Requires minimum three walks a day . One long one 45 minutes to an hour plus two or three short ones. Never goes more than 4 hours alone. No yard so all his business is on the leash. Loves company and many cuddles. Gets along with other dogs and children ,we never worry . Sometimes forgets manners when greeting and needs a reminder of his size and not to lean with children and the elderly. Not a barker but requires “ play time” daily. He will let you know with his vocal reminders of touch me , love me, play
with me. Allergies get him down - strict diet and requires medicine, which he takes well am and pm. Can get hot spots that pop up and he has to go get shaved on the spot and wear a cone of shame. The cone does not bring his spirits down and zest for life continues despite his giant accessory. Vet fits us in promptly or we have shaver to do at home. Bad belly often but passes quickly - roll up the rugs and everyone copes....
82 pounds of fur, fun and laughs. Strong dog and requires a gentle leader or harness as he can pull on walks. Secret - can not swim. Loves water but nothing over his head . Sticks, balls and stuffed dog toys bring him joy. Allowed any where in the home but respects a stern no. Opie earns his middle name honestly “ up in your business” so if you want a constant tour guide by your side day and night - Opie is your golden . + More info
