Responsible House and Cat Sitter for 8 days
My Fiancee and I are going on our Christmas vacation in December and we would like a responsible and caring house sitter to look after our house but more so our Bailey. We adopted her in January from the vet office, she is now strictly indoor but was previously a street cat so she's a little shy to loud noises and quick movements but very friendly and LOVES human contact even if that just means sitting next to you watching Netflix. She doesn't like being picked up, but will happily come and sit on your lap especially if you happen to have a blanket. We worry that while we are gone she would just hide in the basement so we need someone who would pay attention to her and make sure she's not hiding too much.
Our Home & Location
our 3bdrm 1 bath house is located on whats known as "The Old Experimental Farm" - old farm property where the government funded research into experimenting what would grow in Smithers. This sits just off the highway, a 10 minute drive from downtown Smithers, 20 minute drive to Hudson Bay Mountain.
Smithers offers outstanding outdoor recreational pursuits during all phases of the year. This includes fishing and hunting, backpacking, camping, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, golfing, snowmobiling, canoeing and kayaking and many more. Coupled with a lively music scene, Art Gallery, Museum, theatrical performances and an energetic sporting community, Smithers has something for everyone
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding Bailey tree times a day 7am, noon and 6:30, if you would prefer we have an automatic feeder with meals programmed in, Cleaning the litter box every other day, Socializing and playing with her every day, Watering various plants.
Bailey (Bae) is very smart and eager to please, no yelling, spanking, scolding, or punishment ever has or will be used with her. We would like to find someone that will treat her like a tiny human. She understands the word no and usually obeys unless it's something particularly enticing like a tin foil ball or salmon....
We have taught her to sit on command before she eats to wait 10 seconds after sitting before we put her food down - This will probably be the most challenging responsibility of your stay!
Bailey likes to sleep with us under the covers in the winter, she might not right away with new people - but don't be surprised if she asks to snuggle in! + More info
