Christmas in China!
We are looking for responsible animal lovers to look after our little loved ones while we enjoy some time away. We have 3 cats and 3 small/medium dogs who are all friendly and do not bite. They are not hard work but will make great companions as you stay in our home. Our cats are mostly independent but do like some attention but our dogs will make you feel appreciated while you care for them. They will not take up much of your time so you will have plenty of time to explore the local area and city.
The dates are a little flexible so we can try and make it work for you :) If you have any questions, please let me know as I'd be happy to answer them for you....
With the amount of animals that we have, we feel the sit may be more suitable for a couple. However, if you are very keen as a solo traveler, then still feel free to apply but understand that it would require 6 short walks a day. Although we are have no problems with children staying in our home, please be warned that the animals have no experience with children and so we cannot predict how they would behave. As they are quite nervous, they may growl and we certainly don't want your children feeling uneasy so please note this may not be suitable for young children.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need a visa to enter China. The process seems complicated but really isn't so bad. I am happy to find you the relevant information to help you apply and the process can be quite quick so you would easily get the visa back in time for the stay. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our apartment is in the district of Huangdao near Qingdao city. Huangdao is like a mini-city itself.
Our apartment is conveniently located about 1 block away from multiple supermarkets, and many restaurants, bars, and cafes. A block in the other direction takes you to the seafront promenade. Right outside our complex is a 24 hour store, a fruit shop, cinema, and across the road is a bakery and restaurants. There are numerous spas close by if you are seeking relaxation. A short journey away by car is an outlet shopping complex with an ice skating rink and a new mall with numerous shops and food options, and in the other direction are some beaches.
Qingdao city is about 30 minutes away by taxi (or there is a bus). Taxis here are quite cheap so the journey would not cost a lot of money and buses are even cheaper. In Qingdao there are more beaches, a brewery, malls, some tourist attractions, mountains to hike, and even opportunities to do sailing. Qingdao is an interesting city and has been voted one of the most liveable cities in China. There is a mix of Chinese and European history in the city.
Our apartment has wifi, a washing machine, a kitchen with all the cooking equipment you would need, a dining table, lovely shower, and 2 bedrooms. During winter we have underfloor heating which keeps the apartment lovely and warm. Our apartment complex is safe and there are paths to walk around.
Responsibilities & Pets
We will provide thorough instructions for you during your stay. This is not because there are an endless list of tasks but rather we would like to clear as to what is expected so that your stay is stress-free. As a pet sitter, I know I would rather know what to do than to be left to my own devices.
- Walking the dogs three times a day (just around the complex about 15 minutes - a long walk is not necessary).
- Ensuring animals have food and water at all times.
- Interact with the animals and play with them
- Clean the litter trays
- Clean water bowls when dirty
- Keep the apartment tidy and clean...
All of the animals are friendly and do not bite. They are not hard work. + More info
