I'm a retired widow living in Cuenca, Ecuador. My husband and I had visited Cuenca twice before moving here after retiring on May 17, 2013. My husband died in a motorcycle accident while riding with friends in the mountains here in Ecuador in 2014.
We chose Cuenca because of the cooler temperatures compared to the coast and lower elevations. We had lived in the Southern U.S. our whole lives and wanted to get away from the heat and humidity....
My home is on a mountain outside of Cuenca with beautiful views of Cajas National Park in my backyard. Cuenca is out my front window.
I have 2 dogs, Daisy is 13 y/o and we brought her here when we moved in 2013. Daisy was a hurricane Katrina rescue in 2005. Lucky is a little white curly Cuenca street dog we rescued when he was found by my husband on November 1, 2013. Lucky had been hit by a car or something, his left hip was shattered, we took him in and had him operated on and he's been at my side ever since.
I’m trusting that my home and dogs will be cared for the same as I care for them. + More info
Our Home & Location
This is a newly built home located outside of the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. It is on a private road with few neighbors but extremely safe and secure. I have an alarm system, with cameras installed so I can put your mind at ease.
I have a 2015 Kia Sportage available for you to drive.
Responsibilities & Pets
My dogs are fed in the morning and afternoon. I feed them fresh ground beef or cooked chicken both served with vegetables. Take them for a walk once or twice daily, Daisy may prefer to go on a lazy stroll.
