Pet Sitter needed for 2 dogs on Bordeaux Vineyard
We are looking for a pet sitter for our house, 2 dogs and wine tasting business whilst we are on holiday. The dogs are Cassie, 7, a collie type and Lune, 6, a lab type cross. Both are very friendly and love people. However Cassie is quite a handful and needs someone who is experienced with dogs.
Our Home & Location
We are an organic bordeaux vineyard and have a large farmhouse and large gardens.
Aswell as our house, we have a B&B apartment and my parents apartment, all on the same site. The B&B and my parents apartment will be closed up.
Our house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large living room, a kitchen, a playroom and a boot room which is where the dogs sleep, though they have free run of downstairs.
You would have a large downstairs double bedroom with bathroom across the hall.
There is unlimited wifi, we have sky tv and a dvd player....
We are in a rural location, the local town is a 10 minute drive. There is no public transport between us and the local town, once in the town there are trains. You will need your own transport.
There is a solar heated swimming pool which you are welcome to use (in season). + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
There are 4 things. 1. The house, 2. wine tasting, 3. the dogs, 4. the garden.
1 - the house is an old one and has it's quirks!! so someone who has previous house sitting experience and a lot of common sense is necessary. The boiler runs on recycled wood pellets and needs topping up and cleaning out every couple of days - it's not difficult but needs doing regularly....
2. Wine tasting - we are a vineyard, and although there won't be any work to do in the vines we offer vineyard tours and wine tastings and people just turn up without appointments. We would appreciate it if you could run the wine tastings for us - you can explain that you are just house sitting and don't know much (unless you do!) and let them taste the wines (2 reds, a white & a rose) and then they can buy if they want - we're very reluctant to turn customers away. We can leave you with some tasting notes and instructions.
3. The dogs are your main responsibility - feeding, walking, fussing and clearing up after. We don't leave them for more than 4 hours at a time. They are walked twice a day for 30 mins in the morning and 10 mins at night. We would recommend that Cassie is walked on the lead.
4. The garden - During the warmer months there are plants that will need watering once a day (evening). + More info
