Home sitter at our B&B in Burgundy with domestic and several feral cats to look after.
We are a British, non-smoking couple in our mid to late 60s with a B&B and self-catering cottage in the heart of a pretty riverside village in the Yonne, Burgundy, with a bakery/grocery and some restaurants not far away. When we go on holiday ourselves we generally look for a responsible couple to look after the place and our cat and a few feral cats.
Our Home & Location
We have WIFI and all mod-cons, including British & French TV, photovoltaic and solar panels, a nice garden needing a bit of work and a rather untidy conservatory. The area is excellent for walking. We are well-known in the village and have very agreeable and helpful neighbours who would be most supportive.
We are situated half way between Auxerre and Avallon and there is a supermarket and petrol station in Vermenton, some 7 or so km away. The World Heritage village of Vezelay, Chablis, Noyers sur Serein, and numerous other interesting towns are all around 20 km away.
Responsibilities & Pets
Generally looking after the property and our neutered female cat, Sox, and feeding a variety of local feral cats that live in the street, but seem to have adopted us from afar. Where we have B & B guests (without breakfast), we would expect our house sitters to let the guests in and collect the key when the guests leave.
