Pet sitter for 2 cats, 6 sheep, numerous hens, 2 geese, ducks and pond fish.
I need someone lovely to look after my hens, ducks, six sheep, geese, cats and pond fish. You'll have beautiful golden yolked eggs for breakfast - both from the hens and, if you're lucky, from the ducks too. I have bees too, but it isn't necessary to do anything with them at all. I live in the centre of Brittany and have a south-facing garden in a small and peaceful hamlet.
The dates of your stay can be extended into the New Year if that would be more convenient for you.
Our Home & Location
The house is set in a south-facing garden with fish pond, pergola, terrace etc. The hamlet has only fourteen people so it's very calm here. The nearest village with a restaurant, bars, church, boulangerie and small grocery shop is 1.5 miles away and the nearest town is 3 miles away and has everything you would need including doctor's surgery, banks, supermarket, petrol station etc. There are many lovely walks from the house and you are only 25 minutes from Lac de Guerledan and 45 minutes from the north coast of Brittany.
Responsibilities & Pets
It takes me about 20 minutes to feed and let out the animals each day and the same in the evening to put them to bed. The hen houses will also need cleaning out once a week. The raised beds in the veggie patch will need watering and the same for the seed trays or planted veggies in the polytunnel. There's a bit of flower garden but no lawn to mow as it's all down to gravel - if you like weeding you're welcome to do some but it's not compulsory! There's strimming if you feel the need for some exercise.
You can always do things on my To Do List if you're wanting something to do.
