Animal and nature lovers needed to stay in our old mill!
Situated in a former water mill, surrounded by trees and streams, we are remote but not isolated. The location is very pretty, and the house is comfortable and renovated! You can explore this glorious countryside with our dog, Freddie (who loves his walks) and spend time listening to the streams and watching the birds from the veranda.
Our Home & Location
The house is an former water mill, renovated to a good level of comfort. There is one double bedroom and one single room with a good sized downstairs shower and toilet. The kitchen is brand new and leads on to the new terrace which we are just in the process of finishing.
The area has some beautiful walks and bike rides (we have decent bikes you can borrow) and is near a feeder route to the compostela santiago trail. The village is a 5 minute drive away, with a small bar/shop, while the nearest town and supermarket is a 20 minute drive. We are lucky enough to have some fabulous lakes, either for canoeing or swimming and also have some lovely neighbours....
If anyone likes gardening, then there's always tons to do, but it certainly isn't a requirement! + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
The daily routine for the animals, begins with letting the chickens out and then feeding them, followed by the ravenous dog and 2 cats. A 5 minute walk to check on the ponies after breakfast normally suffices, while Freddie loves a walk each day (or 2 if you are energetic).
Poo picking the ponies field daily, is needed but can be done at any time during the day. They are rescued ancient ponies who are generally fearful of humans, so there's no need for interaction. Ideally, it would be great if you have experience looking after horses/ponies, but it's not vital....
Then the evening routine of feeding the dog, cats and ponies, followed by shutting the chickens up when it's dark is really all that is needed.
Freddie can be left on his own for part of the day, but does like company. (and walks) + More info
