Rural retreat in Creuse France looking after 2 dogs.

Introduction
Hi there, we are Vicky and Craig, and we live in a rather beautiful part of Creuse in France. On this occasion we need a house sitter to look after our 2 dogs to allow us to visit friends in Holland for an annual beer festival in Groningen which is a bit of a tradition of ours. My husband Craig is an IT consultant, and in a former life I was a procurement manager. Now I’m concentrating on renovating our larger property next door and trying to set up something resembling a small holding on our 1 acre plot of neglected orchard. We love our 2 dogs and animals in general, and the peace and quiet we have here, the occasional rooster crowing, and so many spectacular birds of prey. The sunsets are magic too.
Our Home & Location
We are busy renovating the larger of the two properties you can see in the photo, but a 2 bedroom, single story property is available for your stay, with living room, kitchen, bathroom with shower and separate toilet. We have a wood burning stove and plenty of wood for you to use as needed. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep, the historic village of Chateleus le Marcheix is just 5km away with sandy beach, and our local town Bourganeuf has a market every Wednesday amongst the medieval turrets of Zimzim tower, once a prison for an Ottoman Prince. An artisan bread maker delivers twice weekly to our local church and the closest supermarket is a 20 minute drive. The city of Limoges is a 45 minute drive away, and one of the largest lakes in France Lac Vassiviere is an hours drive. Given our rural location, own transport would be essential. Outside seating is in a fenced area out front with excellent views, and our 1 acre orchard with views to the mountains is yours to explore.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 2 dogs and they mean the world to us. They require 2 short walks a day and providing they are walked well beforehand, can be left for up to 4 hours to allow you to explore further afield if you wish.
Sheldon, our Frenchie, is a comedic chubby bundle of joy. His stumpy legs mean he needs a hand on and off the furniture, but you will fall in love with him. He has colitis, which means he cannot digest cereal, so he has cereal free food, which will be provided and his favourite treat is a carrot. He can’t walk as far as Freya can, he’s happy with 20 minutes twice a day....
Freya is a 2 year old Spanish Podenco. Both dogs are rescue dogs, we’ve had Freya for about 6 months. She is full of beans and longer walks will help her happily snooze the day away. The most important thing with Freya is that she cannot be allowed off lead EVER! Podencos are bred to hunt rabbit, and her instinct to run and chase means she will not come back when called for anything in the world. Not even cheese! She can be off lead in the front fenced area, but must be secure before the gate is ever opened, either inside or on lead. There may be some watering of plants required, but currently, the veg patch and poly tunnel don’t exist, so that’s a TBC.
