Pet sitter required in glorious Gouvets, Normandy.
Two mad dogs looking for someone to come and look after them and guard them from the cats when their worn out owners finally have a few short breaks over the next year.
Our Home & Location
Our home is situated in the scenic Normandy village of Gouvets. Surrounded by fields, farms and country walks, Gouvets is a peaceful, friendly village close to Villedieu-les-Poêles, Granville, St Lô and Vire. We are also within driving distance of Mont St Michel, Bayeux and the Normandy WWII Landing Beaches. Normandy is very popular for walking holidays, and let's not forget cycling (although do be aware that every road leading out of the village goes up hill!). The village bar takes centre stage with a lot of activity. The bar is open daily, except Wednesday, and offers a plat de jour at lunchtime, or lunch and evenings at the weekend. You can even get fresh fish and chips on Friday, although you will need to order on Thursday, as the owners only buy fresh fish; the owners, Christine and Jacky are friendly, helpful and very welcoming. They also run a shop, attached to the bar, where you can buy fresh bread, croissants, fruit and vegetables, and many locally produced food items. The house is an old farmhouse with roughly an acre of land. We have fruit bushes, apple trees and pear trees, and you are welcome to help yourself to any ripened fruit when you're here! We have two log fires, but also central heating for those colder months.
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding. Walking. Cuddles. Another walk. More food. Lots of cuddles!
The dogs bark a lot. A Lot! They sound scary, but they aren't, and any listing will include a day or two at home with me and the dogs before I leave you with them, so they become accoustomed to you. Pepper can be hard work; he is a rescue dog and does have a few issues, including separation issues, so anyone coming would have to be prepared to be a bit 'forgiving', shall we say. However, I promise you that you will never find a more loveable dog, and a fantastic companion on a walk.
