Pet and housesitting in South West France
We have only recently moved here from England(Family is Danish English mix) We are going back for holiday to visit friends and family. We have three very people orientated dogs and two independent cats that love roaming and yet they are very affectionate when they want to be! Both cats and dogs are used to having adults and children about. Our dogs love going for walks and equally love the attention and affection of human contact. Then my daughter has finally acquired two pets of her own, the guinnea pigs which need little but regular cleaning and feeding naturally. It is a dogwalkers paradise here and I have applied earlier dates before we leave in order to show and introduce the sitters to the routes and amenities.
Our Home & Location
As mentioned above there are plenty of walks here, we live on the outskirts of a village, up a hill in woodland area. The dogs roam free and you would not normally need a lead for going on many of the walks. It is a property with mountain views and if that is not close enough they are an hours drive away. 10-20 Min to Trie sur Baise for local amenities.
We are in the process of converting barns into gites but we live in the family house which has 3 ensuite bedrooms of which you will have one.
Responsibilities & Pets
Walking the dogs. Feeding all the animals. Give the animals appropriate love and company for the duration. The cockapoo(Pastrami) has an impractical coat and will need drying with a towel if she gets wet. As opposed to Blackie just needs to go on his bed. All animals appreciates a brush although Pastrami is the only one that really needs it every 3-4days
