Tranquille countryside of SW France welcomes you
As owners of 6 rescue dogs and 2 cats it's very difficult to have any spontaneous breaks so we need to plan our holidays. Both David and I work. He does decorating and is also an artists whilst I am an estate agent and run a care business looking after elderly people in their own home here in beautiful SW France. As well as wanting some time away together I also need time away to return to the UK to see my elderly father. Do not be put off by six dogs - they do not need walking as we have enough land for them to run around (although some wouldn't say no to the odd stroll and there are some amazing local walks. Be warned though - they are all spoilt sofa dogs so be prepared to battle for your place in front of the TV :-) They are very loving and very straightforward...no special diets or actions needed....just lots of strokes and cuddles.
Our Home & Location
We live in a restored farmhouse about ten minutes from the village of Montaigu de Quercy and 20 minutes from the bastide village of Lauzerte. Larger towns are also close by - Fumel (30 mins), Moissac (30 mins), Agen (40 mins) and Villeneuve Sur Lot (40 mins). We have a large fully equipped kitchen, 2 terraces and a large living room. Sitters accommodation includes a large bedroom with your own ensuite shower room. We have UK TV and the usual mod cons. Plus a large garden surrounding the house. The house is pretty remote though so sitters might want to consider car hire, cycling etc... as there are no shops in walking distance. Depending on our holiday destination, we could leave a car for sitter's use. Locally there are lovely lakes to walk around and historic bastide villages to visit. We are just over an hour to Toulouse and Bergerac airports.
Responsibilities & Pets
Really outside of summer months the garden should not need watering and the dogs are very easy and can be left to fend for themselves in our fenced garden should you want to explore the surrounding countryside and villages and towns. So long as they are fed about 8.30am and again around 6pm they will be very happy.
