House Sit Required For 4 Cats, 3 Llamas in The Aveyron France January/ February 2018 Dates to Confirm
We have lived in France for 12 years now and we run a business over here selling antiques and collectibles worldwide.
We are looking for a mature responsible vegan or vegetarian couple to house sit for us and to look after our 4 adorable cats and 3 llamas. The cats are free to come and go as they please through their cat flat but do require cuddles on demand and to be fed also. The llamas require checking twice a day (or more if you wish) and their water to be topped up when low and their field to be cleaned on occasion. Additionally, if there is bad weather, they may need hay nets. Sorry we cannot accept children. We would prefer a couple who are roughly the same age as us, early 60’s and who are animal people....
The primary reason for the house sit is the animals, they are vitally important to us and their care and wellbeing is the motivation here.
Our house is a work in progress (and may always be!) whilst at the same time being clean and comfortable. It is lovely and warm in winter with the underfloor heating and the wood burner, plus there is always hot water on tap. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in the beautiful 100 valley area of the Segéla Aveyron, close to the borders of the Tarn Department. We are roughly equal distance from Villefranche de Rouergue, Rodez and Albi. There is so much to see and do around here. Within a half an hour there are 4 of the most beautiful villages in France: Najac, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Belcastel and Monesties.
Whichever direction you travel, beauty abounds. It is roughly one hour and a quarter to the Millau viaduct, St. Antonin Noble Val, the Aubrac and its ski slopes, a little further to the slopes in the Cantal. Albi is a beautiful city and about 40 minutes, Toulouse an hour and a half and Carcassonne about 2 hours 20mins....
If you love peace and quiet and the countryside, then our house will suit you. It has far reaching views and no one in front of it, bar for the llamas.
Our house is a 4 bedroomed detached with double garage. We have Wi-Fi and a wide screen television with free to air English channels amongst others. There is underfloor heating and we have a wood burner.
A car is an absolute must here as the hamlet is fairly remote, depending on which direction you go, it is approximately 10 kilometres to Naucelle and 15 to Rieupeyroux. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We would want sitters to be there for our 4 cats and 3 llamas. The cats just need to follow their normal routine, there is a cat flap. They need love and cuddles on demand! The llamas are easy to look after, just check them a couple of times a day and refresh their water and clean their field on occasion. They are kind enough to use regular areas of the field for toilet use, so it does not involve the complete field. In cold weather, maybe give them nets of hay.
