Someone who will share their bed with three cats
We live in an old farmhouse with modern amenities, 6 km from a small town, and 3km from the nearest neighbour. Tinker is getting on, but still enjoys life. Marty is a rescue dog who is very loving, but rather excitable, with a tendency to go off by himself if he gets bored. He is learning to walk on a lead, and is good at coming to a whistle. Hopi was rescued from a puppy farm, and is starting to enjoy family life, but obedience is still a bit rudimentary. She is very sweet and loving, but very sensitive to loud noises. All the cats are friendly, though Ice Tea is easily frightened. Mango is bossy, Ice Tea shy, Tigresse noisy. Tea Too is calm and gentle, and Harry a perfect gentleman.
The donkeys are sweet, no trouble. Also the hens, who are pets, as well as being an alarm clock....
The house has a downstairs bedroom, kitchen/sitting room with a big fireplace, bathroom, and a family room upstairs with twin beds and library/hobby room. Central heating. There is a small guest house as well, but no central heating there + More info
Our Home & Location
It's a flat area, with a lot of walking paths, rivers, old churches, pretty villages, and good places to eat. The Futuroscope is 55km away. If you must have nightlife there is a disco 15km away. We don't have a landline or a television.
You will normally need a car, unless you are prepared to cycle 8km to the nearest shops. We can arrange insurance on our car with advance notice.
Responsibilities & Pets
Live in the house, walk Marty and Hopi and feed everyone.Tinker will join in but gets tired after a short walk. The cats eat cat food and use litter trays. They are allowed out but well, they are cats... Rosie and Filou just need their water filling up, and hay in the winter or when there isn't much grass. The hens live in their spacious enclosure and eat grain.
Three of the cats expect to sleep in our bed. You can use the guest room if you don't want furry bedwarmers....
We don't expect you to spend much time doing housework. Our cleaning lady will come every week, but she has her routine, good luck if you want something different.
The house is not set up for young children. Older children from about six years on should be fine. Rosie will accept being ridden, but she is pretty idle. + More info
