Taking care of our 2 lovely cats in Berlin city center
We are Julia and Carlos, originally from the Netherlands and Spain (respectively), and have been living in Berlin now for around 3 years. We both work full time - at Sony and in a law firm, and love to spend our free time traveling and of course, visiting our family and friends 'at home'.
In those periods, we're looking for someone to take care of our 2 lovely cats. We've had friends visiting and feeding the cats but we would much prefer to have someone staying with Simba & Nala at home since they are very social animals.
Our Home & Location
Our home is centrally located in the west of Berlin (Schöneberg). The apartment is 65m2, has 1 bed room, living room + kitchen and bathroom.
It's a short walk from KaDeWe (biggest shopping mall in Europe), and more shops and restaurants can be found near Zoologischer garten....
You'll find 3 different supermarkets (Edeka, LIDL, BOLU) and many nice cafés and restaurants in walking distance. Definitely try out the farmer's market in the weekend too.
The U bahn station Nollendorfplatz is around the corner and the 4 different U bahn lines will take you anywhere in the city.
Whether you're a first time visitor Berlin or have been living in the city, the area has much to offer. Happy to share any suggestions for when you would be visiting! + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Simba (also listening to 'Gordo' = 'fat one' in Spanish) and Nala are brother and sister. They are from the same nest - yet very different in personalities. You might find Nala to be more energetic and approachable, while Simba will await and try to get to know you first. And when he does feel comfortable around you, he's the most cuddly cat around.
Since we both work during the day, the cats are quite used to entertaining themselves. They're around 2.5 years old now and can still run around and chase each other like little kids playing. However, they are indoor cats and very much used to being around people. If you spend the evening watching a movie on Netflix, they would love to come and cuddle on the couch with you. So a bit of home-time would definitely be appreciated....
They have no special wishes, would just need to get food 2-3 times per day. This includes some wet food, dry food and of course, fresh water. The litter box would also need to be cleaned.
We'll provide you with a little guide with more details during your stay. + More info
