Pet Sitter for Horses, Dogs, and Cats
We are a couple who loves animals. We live without direct neighbors but by car the next city can be reached in no time. We like to travel and seek a person who enjoys animals.
Our Home & Location
Our home is in the middle of a small forest on the top of a hill. We are surrounded by nature and are close to many bigger cities which can be reached by car. Hattingen is a 5 minute drive away, Bochum 10-15 min, Dusseldorf 40 min, Cologne 50 min. There are two grocery stores in walking distance. If you like hiking, there is plenty hiking paths starting from our doorstep. If you want to relax you can do that, and if you want to see cities, you can visit one every day.
As we have a guest house, you could stay a little longer or arrive somewhat earlier and still enjoy your privacy.
Responsibilities & Pets
You would have to take care of our dogs, cats, horses and ponies.
They are all fed twice a day which would be your main task.
For us, the focus is on the horses: They are taken out to their field and back in several hours later. It is a 3 min. walk....
You would have to check if the fence is okay before you bring them out again. If anything is damaged, you should be able to fix it ( with hammer and nail).
You check on a daily basis that the horses are ok and if anything is wrong, you’ d call a vet or farrier. ( So far, they never had anything. But I think I should mention it here.) For both horses and ponies, a fresh bedding should be prepared on a daily basis.
The ponies, dogs and cats walk on their own in our garden. In the evenings you should take the dogs inside the house and the ponies to their box ( they come upon calling them ).
The animals surely enjoy human company, but can work it out on their own.
It would be super if you‘d like to start your day early as this is our routine and everyone is used to it. This pet sit would be ideal for a couple, but if you are interested and are single, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Taking care of the animals that way takes me two to three hours a day. + More info
