Caribbean Cabin and Two Chilled Cats Need Love and looking after!
Hi... I'm Tasha... also known as Foxy by all that know me. I'm originally from the UK and spent the 18 years working and living in London as an actress/model and then motorcycle race journalist, and finally working with the California Superbike School before moving with my two cat's to Roatan, in the Bay Islands of Honduras in the Western Caribbean 8.5 years ago.
I moved here to have a simpler life, away from all the Bulls**t and drama of the life thats almost compulsory. I'm genuinely happy inside, and simplifying life is good as you can give 100% of you back to your environment, community and the animals....
Since landing on the Island, I've been a radio DJ, volunteered with the Vorld Vets organization for 7 years, worked with the Rotary Club and hustled with a tattoo artist, got drawing again after 20+ years of nothing! Which lead to my current career of tattoo artist, and the simplicity again has allowed me to be creative again...
I now travel with work, including tattoo conventions and many other opportunities are going to present themselves as my work speak for itself.
I've up till now had 'friends' and friends of friends house and cat sitting, and to be honest I've been disappointed as one on occasion the cats were so dirty and distressed when I got home it took me months to get them normal agin, Smoochy has been effected more! This is why I want to use this service... We all benefit and reviewed!!! + More info
Our Home & Location
This is island style living at it's best and simple. I live in an original quaint island style cabin about 10ft up over looking the Caribbean Sea on the island of Roatan, in the Bay Islands of Honduras. Roatan is the largest and most developed of the three Bay Islands.
The cabin is situated right in-between West End and West Bay... It's perfect for a younger, fit, active and agile person or couple only, it is accessible by beach and road, mainly beach as the road is sometimes impassable in rainy season, Oct-early Feb. The cabin is small, comfortable and clean as I'm a tattoo artist and travel for work occasionally. The property has friendly dogs that make noise when they have to, and love to be loved, they belong to a Watchie family who live at the back behind my cabin, they're good people and don't speak English. There is great snorkeling right outside the front of the cabin on the second biggest reef system on the planet and a dock to chill out on and a small beach, right there in the front garden..... There are red macaws flying around everyday, it's awesome. It's not the easiest living, but its rewarding. I didn't move to Roatan to live like I did back in London!...
My cabin is located just 10 min walk up the beach to West End beach village, or 20 mins walk down to West Bay beach, I pretty much walk everywhere as I like the exercise. Beach access is available down a few rickerty steps by my cabin. You can also take water taxi's to go to West End or West Bay, ($3-4) or, you can whistle or call from them at the end of the dock on the beach! Both ways are fun and nice... Where I live is kind of secluded, but also accessible to a fit active person. It's quiet, serene and just perfect for being creative, reading and listening to music. The only traffic you will hear is boats and water taxi's passing and tourists and locals laughing and singing as they pass on the water and walk the beach between west ned and west bay. Don't expect luxurias living, it's NOT what I moved here for!
West End is a beach town where there are bars, shops, food, clubs etc, and West Bay is more resorts, touristy, cruise shipper somedays, place but on the quiet days it's lovely, white sandy beach with turquoise waters and a nice chilled atmosphere.... You can rent a jeep and the road access is then available, the east end of the island his fun to explore too with all of the mangrove tours and pirate tales!. I also have a friend with a car rental place, it’s cheap to get a car for a couple of hours or a day for an adventure, for grocery shopping into Coxen hole town where there are grocery stores, banks etc..., trash removal and water bottles, for fresh water etc.
I will set you up with a SIM card that you can then have internet and phone credit put on your for your devices, this is how I function perfectly and simply. Most places have wifi, it's slow, but works. I have an old iMac that I watch movies and listen to music on and a hard drive with extensive film, documentaries and series to keep you entertained.
I have a very simple life, there is electric and water, but not hot water... It's humid and cold showers are best anyways I heat water up on the stove if I want warm washes! lol... I would like my home to be kept safe, clean and tidy, it's not massive, so some sort of order has to be kept as I'm an artist with OCD + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
I have two awesome indoor cat's who I love very much. They have access to the balcony, I don't let them outside because its a harsh environment for animals in general, there are dogs on the property and wouldn't want my babies hurt!
I have Max, a 11 year old Ginger tabby who I bought here to the tropics from London with me 8.5 years ago, Max is super chilled as you can see by the photos, he is very loving, very low maintenance, LOVES good brush, and is Mr Easy. Max is very much his own cat! Everything on his terms....
Then there's Lil Smooch, the more needy, verbal island cat who's 7.5 years old, oh and did I say verbal, he loves chatting! He's a real LOVER, hence his name and he hasn't got a mean bone in his body, he loves LOVE! He drinks lot's of water, so litter trays have to be kept clean a little more often, I have to have my home smelling fresh and clean as it's also my work place. BOTH cat's are used to having me there a lot of time as I work from home with my art and tattooing, they miss me when I'm not there and I've been let down and very disappointed by friends who are supposed to care for them and don't give them the care and love they are used to it effects them and their behavior. + More info
