Cat sitter needed for nice, central bungalow with great garden!
Pixi and Penny are two SPCA rescue cats who love a cuddle and a comfy knee so always value having company in their own home, instead of going to a cattery. Pixi warms to most people straight away, while Penny is a little shyer but very affectionate once she gets to know you. When they aren't sleeping on the sofa or the beds, they love to play in the garden or laze on the sunny deck.
Our Home & Location
The location: Our 3 bed, 1 bathroom character house is located in central Sandringham, just 5 minutes drive to St Lukes Mall and 15-20 minutes drive to Auckland central city. Just a few minutes walk up the road you will find a great pub and eatery, bus-stop and the main Sandringham shops, including lots of indian restaurants & takeaways, a bottle store, post office, pharmacy, butchers, medical centre, a french cafe and another small pub.
The house: The section itself is fully-fenced, and includes a garage (available for you to use in most cases). The house has a heat-pump for colder months, bathroom with shower and claw-foot bath, and a new kitchen over-looking the sunny deck, north facing back-lawn and garden. The 3rd bedroom is currently a spare room with a comfortable queen bed that guests or house-sitters can use. There is wardrobe space for your clothes (drawers and hangers) and a heater can be provided. We would consider a young child or baby staying - they could use our sons room (which has a comfortable King-single bed with trundler in it)....
We want you to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay, keep the girls company, and enjoy the area :) + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding the cats twice a day and giving them fresh water and cuddles are the main duties. Also, Pixi has recently been diagnosed with a thyroid disorder so requires medication once a day. It's super easy to administer! You just rub a dab of medication on her inner ear every evening - she's pretty placid so it's a piece of cake :)
Although there is a cat door, Pixi won't use it so we do keep a litter tray indoors that will need to be changed as well. Otherwise, collecting the mail, watering pot plants (in the summer), taking out rubbish (if applicable), and leaving the house clean as you find it is all that's required.
