Home with Jazz, Sophie St James & Marco Polo
Hello, we are July and Dave. We are a professional married couple with no children. Dave is a tradesman and July is in management. We enjoy the outdoors as much as staying in.
We love our space in our home and have enjoyed the peace and quiet. We are happy to share our home if it means we are able to go away without any worries of our darling dogs and cat or our house being unoccupied. I suppose this is the beauty of this mutually beneficial situation we are all in here. :)
Our Home & Location
Our home is located near the Kaiapoi river. We are sort of in the outskirts of Kaiapoi township where supermarket and shops are within walking distances.
We have a 3-bedroom house situated at the end of a private lane within a cul-de-sac. Our backyard has an established garden where Jazz and Sophie loves to hang out.
Our open plan kitchen living and dining area is also nice place to hangout.
Jazz is an elder Border Collie, very polite, behaved and obedient, agile when necessary. He just turned 10 years old.
Sophie is a very young Husky/Collie cross, cheeky, and a ball of energy. Sometimes too much for Jazz to handle. You will need to be firm and decisive with her. She was born June 2017.
Marco is a Ragdoll/Burmese cross, very strong-willed yet very behaved and loves cuddles. He would sometimes indulge the dogs with playtime whenever he is feeling up to it. Marco is also quite young - born November 2016....
Jazz, Sophie and Marco Polo are inside pets (meaning they sleep inside at night in our bedroom). They are not allowed on any furniture - Jazz doesn't go on any furniture, the cat is still in training (he gets sprayed with water through a water bottle). Sophie is the newest addition to our furry family. She is just a puppy born in June 2017. They have their routines during the day.
Both Jazz and Sophie are left outside during the day. Marco also goes outside during the day to visit the neighbour's cat over the fence. He always comes home at night.
As long as they are fed morning and night, water bowls filled, cat litter cleaned and poop in the garden collected/binned, our home is your home.
There are plenty of parks within walking distances where Jazz and Sophie can go for a walk.
Christchurch city is only 30minutes away from Kaiapoi. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
You can go about your day as you normally would.
Jazz and Marco sleep inside in our bedroom.
Sophie sleeps in the bathroom (she cant hold her bladder still being so young).
In the morning (around 6/7am) when they/you wake up, please let them outside and feed them, especially Sophie.
Jazz is normally pretty good with holding on if he needs to go pee but he will politely ask you or let you know that he wants to go outside.
Marco is more expressive and will let you know incessantly.
Jazz gets 1cup of dry hypoallergenic food only every morning and night.
He is not allowed any other food if they are not hypoallergenic.
Sophie gets 2/3 cup of her puppy food every morning and night.
Please feed Sophie outside and Jazz inside. Sophie will get into Jazz's food if they are together.
If Jazz doesnt finish his food, put it away for later.
Marco gets a handful of dry cat food in the morning and night.
In the afternoon/evening, Jazz and Sophie would like you to take them out for a walk. Sophie must be on a leash at all times. If you take them just around our neighbourhood, Jazz will be fine with a long leash. When you get to the park by the river, Jazz will want his leash off to run around. He normally knows where to go. He knows a lot of commands (rarely tricks) that we use around the house. Sophie is still in training....
Please keep their water bowl filled. Please dont let Jazz and Sophie freely coming in and out through the sliding door by leaving it open. Sophie is trying her best to master potty training.
Marco uses the cat door in the laundry room. He comes and goes as he pleases and will always come home at night.
Other than Jazz, Sophie and Marco Polo, you only have yourself to mind. + More info
