We are looking for a friendly and patient dog and housesitter for 11th NOV-3rd or 4th DEC. 2018
We are a couple in our 60's and have 2 sociable dogs (they like it when you speak to/or cuddle them), Atreus is quite old with his 13 years (he can be very slow with walking) and we just adopted Fiona, she was abandoned and she is young, about 2 years old. They are great togethe.
Our dog Migo in the picture on the beach passed away last September....
We live in the very south of Portugal, just on the outskirts of lively small town Albufeira and go daily 2x for a nice walk with them nearby the beaches, of the leashes -so they both walk free- early in the morning at 8.15 a.m.- 9.00, it takes a 5-10 minutes drive to get there.
On the pictures our dogs are on a beach, or on the grounds next to that beach, 7 mn. away from home, on the grounds where we walk them daily, but in the summer it is not allowed to go on the beach with them. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in a small house but with all the equipment (shower/bath), Wi-fi, you have your own terrace under the olive trees. We are on a hill just at the W. outskirts of Albufeira, always very good clean air from the ocean. Portugal is known for a lot of natural light, we have seldom these depressing dark clouds. We are about 5 minutes by car from shops. Albufeira has many, many restaurants and the centre is in the summer very hectic, but our area is calm. You may use our car, a Diesel Opel Astra-station with geers to drive to the coast (7 min.) for the dogs-walk and also for your own personal necessity. In fact no need to say, but you will be responsible for damage.
We have very nice friends, who, if you like can be introduced to you, for some easy social contact and to have a view into life here.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our dogs like their daily walk (twice a day, a longer walk of about 35 min in the mornings, at 08.15 a.m.;
a shorter in the early evening just before it gets dark), they eat 1 home cooked meal mixed with dry food in the evening, but get a snack after their walks. Since we have Fiona I give them also half a bowl of dry food in the morning after their walk. They can be left alone at home, but they like it when you are there at times.
Keep the house and garden nice and tidy as well as the terraces. Water plants.
Our own house is a small one, but comfortable and cosy, with all equipment, this is where we live with the dogs..
We have a bigger house with a lot of light (huge glass windows) on the same grounds (in total 1000m2) . It will not be occupied in November.
We ask you to air the house. You can get even a sunburn there while the terraces faces South.
