Cat sitter needed over the summer!
Hey there! My name is Rachel Burton and I am currently working in Qatar as a Primary teacher. I moved to Doha in August 2017 before adopting my rescue cat, Pip in October. Before living in Qatar, I lived and taught in Leeds. During the winter break, Pip went into a cattery for two weeks while I was away, but as this is for a longer period of time (approx. 2 months), I feel she would benefit from staying in the comfort of her own home. Pip is a great little character who brings everyone she meets joy.
Our Home & Location
I live in a roomy 1-bed apartment in Al Sadd, Doha. The kitchen and living area is open plan and leads out onto a moderately sized balcony. There kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, cutlery etc. There is a dining table and sofa bed in the living area as well as a large TV. The bedroom has a king sized bed and plenty of light flooding in. There is a dressing room area between the bedroom and main bathroom. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower with plenty of hot water. There is also a second bathroom with a toilet and sink as you enter the apartment. On the 8th floor, there is a gym and roof top swimming pool.
The apartment block is a 15 minute (max) drive to the city centre and is close to Villagio Mall and Festival City. There is a Lulu and convenience store within walking distance where day-to-day groceries can be picked up. Taxis are easy to catch.
Responsibilities & Pets
The apartment is very low maintenance and would only require essential cleaning once a week. Due to the dusty nature of Doha, the balcony would also need to be hoovered.
Pip is also very low maintenance. She enjoys playing and being cuddled, but is happy to spend time on her own sleeping! She is a good eater (particularly wet food) and is fed wet food twice a day (AM & PM) and has her dry food topped up when it is needed. Water should be changed daily. Her litter tray should be cleaned twice a week.
