Villa on the Costa Blanca, 10 minute drive to lovely town of Moraira
Our Home & Location
The villa is located in the urbanisation of Montemar, which is well established with mostly, individual villas, built on the old, stone-walled terraces, which distinctly define the surrounding landscape of this area. It is hilly and attractive, with some of the houses having panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Mine is in a valley with no sea views.
The nearest small town, Moraira, is beautiful, cosmopolitan and has is a definite, chic feel to it. The town planners have carefully nurtured it, to attain its distinctly up-market appeal, there are no high rise buildings, and has just the right choice of cafes, small shops, a myriad of international restaurants, narrow streets and markets and it's less than a ten minute drive away....
Calpe, with its huge rock, The Ifach, has more shops, a fishing port and attractive seafood restaurants. It has great, long sandy beaches and takes 20 mins by car.
The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, though one of the bedrooms is for personal use and therefore, not available to house sitters. It's living areas are situated on 2 levels, with the kitchen and main entrance on the lower level, all other living space is upstairs.
The main bedroom and en suite, which will be used by house sitters, is situated in an attached annex we had built 10 years ago. (During the summer months, I rent it out via Airbnb). It has a vestibule, which leads down a few steps into the good sized, bright and airy bedroom. It has a high beamed ceiling which adds to the feeling of space, it's comfortable, it's peaceful. There are two arched windows, overlooking the pool and large garden, with sun loungers and a big comfortable sofa.
Off the bedroom, is the bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.
A car is necessary as there is no public transport near the house and taxis can be pricey. The surrounding countryside is beautifully terraced with vines, almonds, olives and citrus groves and the nearby towns on the coast and inland, are well worth exploring. It's truly, an outstanding area of Spain. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Would like sitters to feed dogs twice, and one walk daily. I have a big garden and they have the freedom of the whole area. Cats are fed "as and when seen", two of them live outside, primarily because Cookie, the young one, is territorial and has ousted her elders! They do occasionally come into the kitchen if they are particularly hungry, though, for safety's sake!!!, they prefer to eat just outside the gate which is obviously the unmarked border, as beyond there, they are unmolested.
Apart from that, watering the plants and keeping the house reasonably clean please.
