Lovely Oliva town house - home to 1 dog and 2 cats
Hi I´m Ruth - a Londoner who moved to Spain just over 2 years ago. I love my life here and my pets. I work from home as a virtual PA to a best selling author and public speaker in the design industry. I´m looking for a mature sitter or sitters to stay in my lovely town house when I have to make occasional trips to the UK or want to go on a short break or holiday in Spain or abroad. I was very pleased when a friend introduced me to Trusted Housesitters - I have never used a service like this before but it seems a great solution to an age old problem! My dog Mimi usually goes to a local kennel when I´m away - they are great and she really likes it there but I think it would be much nicer for her to stay in her own home and stick to her usual routines. The cats would also benefit from having sitters in the house as opposed to a neighbour popping in twice a day. I hope to find like minded sitters who would enjoy my home and care for my pets as I do!
Our Home & Location
My home is situated in the heart of Oliva old town, behind the historical church of San Roc and San Roc square. It´s lovely quiet neighbourhood with a mix of English and Spanish all year round residents. The house is several hundred years old and contains some amazing original features but also has my stamp of contemporary design and furniture. Oliva boasts 10 kilometres of unspoilt sandy beaches and dunes which are a 40 minute walk from the house or a 10 minute drive, there is also a daily and frequent bus service in the summer. There are many places on natural beauty to visit nearby including Font Salada and Pego Marshes. Transport links are good but there is no train station, the nearest being Gandia. There are plenty of supermarkets and shops and La Marina shopping centre is a 15 minute drive away towards Alicante. Oliva is a typical Spanish working town, it has a very good sports complex, 3 museums of local history, a cinema, art gallery, daily municipal market and a produce and general household market every Friday. A car is not essential but does help to make the most of the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities & Pets
Mimi needs 3 walks a day consisting of 2 long walks (1 hour +) and 1 shorter walk (30-40 mins)
Ski and Skikus are house cats - they have litter trays which need to be cleaned 2-3 times a day
