German Shepherd Sitter Needed
We are a US couple, one working, one retired who currently live in St. Gallen, Switzerland. We enjoy being expats and have lived in California, France, Hong Kong, London and now Switzerland. We rescue older, unwanted dogs and have found them to be the very best. Jake is an 8-year-old German Shepherd. He gets along with people very well and does not like to be alone. He is not keen on dogs (or cats) he doesn’t know. The town of St. Gallen is lovely with an “old” pedestrian center and has a UNESCO world heritage site library. There are numerous shops and restaurants. There are 2 markets within easy walking distance and a bus stop less than 2 mins walk to take you to town or the train station.
Our Home & Location
We live in a modern complex. Ground floor flat. The sitter will have their own room and a full bath. Full kitchen and laundry facilities are also included. There is an external patio and garden (no gardening necessary) . We are very close to shops and cafes. The bus stop to go into St. Gallen is a 2 min walk. The bus goes directly to the center including the old town and the train station. The apartment boarders on a small forest and has pathways to the stream down below. There are buses to local attractions such as the Santis Mountain, Appenzell and Lake Constance (Bodensee) as well as the city of Konstanz which is great for shopping. It's a lovely, quiet area.
Responsibilities & Pets
Jake is getting on in years. He needs to be fed twice a day and walked at least 3 times per day. He does not like to be alone but can be left for a few hours if need be. The flat is on the ground level with a patio. No exterior gardening is required. Some watering of house plants would be nice.
