Friendly dog in a lovely Bangkok suburb
We're Martyn and Chrissy Nagle and we moved to Thailand in August 2017. Chrissy is a teacher in an international school near to Sammakorn in the Eastern suburb of Bangkok. We adopted our dog Mojo in January 2018 and we are looking for a housesitter that loves dogs, is comfortable with dog training and is happy with plenty of play and walks!
Our Home & Location
We live in a two bedroom detached house in Sammakorn which sits between the main airport and central Bangkok. The 'village' has supermarkets within easy walking distance along with a weekend market for fresh food, clothes etc. In the village there are a wealth of bars, restaurants, coffee shops mainly built around the four main lakes in the village. Sammakorn is a mixed community that is mainly Thai but with a decent chunk of English and German speakers who live in the village. Central Bangkok is around an hour in a taxi but it is about 10-15 minutes to the airport train link which will shuttle you all the way in. If you're feeling more adventurous, then the Klongs (canals) are in walking distance and are a cheap and fun way to get in. We love living here and it's a great base for finding out more about this bustling city
Responsibilities & Pets
The house is easy to maintain with most surfaces tiled so just need a hoover and mop. The garden will need some maintenance but it's mainly sweeping leaves and some easy pruning and weeding.
Mojo does her business near her crate at the side of the house so these need bagging daily. Bin collections happen three times a week from the front of the house. Drinking water is delivered every Saturday by Sprinkle and we typically get through just over one bottle a week....
For Mojo, one decent walk in the morning is normally enough but she can needanother in the afternoon if she's particularly lively. She enjoys plenty of play (especially chasing) and loves her snacks. Mojo will follow commands when she knows snacks are available but can be selectively deaf if not! She needs to be on a lead when out of the house/garden as she is very inquisitive and will run off to investigate.
Mojo can be left on her own during the day or at night if you want to go out but she does get lonely so it should be one or the other as she's very social with humans. With dogs we suspect she wasn't socialised as she can be a bit funny around other dogs. We're working in that but would recommend keeping her away from other house dogs and definitely steer clear of the Soi dogs.
Generally she's a very easy dog to care for and she has a lovely temperament. + More info
