Apartment in the heart of Uskudar Istanbul.
My husband and I are Americans living abroad. I work at a local high school as a university counselor and my husband is retired but loves to paint and play the guitar. We have a wonderful cat Louie who is 13 years old, but very affectionate and cuddly. He lost his best buddy in October 2017 and has never been the same. We all miss Gomez, but Louie misses him the most.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in the heart of vibrant Uskudar in Istanbul. Our apartment has one queen size bed and one single bed. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms and strong wifi.
We are on the Asian side of the city, but walking distance to the Bosphorus, the ferry, Metro, and buses. There is a mosque and bathhouse built in the 1600's just 5 minutes walk away and a beautiful old church built in 1610 right next door. We are in a very old part of town with lots of character and local flair. Everything you could want is a short walk from our place, including the Metro, a mall with a large grocery store, small grocery stores, pet shops, restaurants...really everything! On Mondays, right at the end of the street, is our weekly outdoor market where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, and other items....
Our neighbors and the people in the neighborhood are super friendly. We love it here and think you will get a real feel for what it's like to live in a village atmosphere, but be in the heart of a city. The apartment is on Vasiyet street in Uskudar if you want to look at the location. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Feed Louie dry food, clean litter box. Give him a couple of pills and some liquid medicine twice per day.
He takes his medicine pretty easily. He is old and doesn't do much but likes plenty of attention.
