The van Wyk Family
My name is Megan. I hope by reading this, you'll feel like you know us a little better....
My husband Mitch and I, along with our beautiful girl, Bear moved to Dubai at the end of August 2018. Mitch is a Financial Controller and I have just finished a degree in psychology. We have been married for 6 years. Shortly after we got married, we moved to Bamako, Mali where we found 2 month old Bear in a less than great enviroment. She came home with us and has been our absolute joy ever since. She moved back to the UK with us and 3 years later, she's moved to Dubai with us - little globe trotter!
We have 4 weddings this year, all of which we are in! (Busy year for love!). We are looking for either someone already in Dubai or someone passing through to look after our girl whilst we are away. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our home is the perfect holiday villa for a couple who are looking for a relaxing holiday. We have a 2 ensuite bedroom, villa in Al Reem 2, Arabian Ranches, Dubai. Our home has an openplan living/kitchen/dining area with a downstairs office and a downstairs toilet. Our garden is a lovely size for relaxing. We have a BBQ and outdoor seating.
Al reem 2 has a swimming pool, tennis courts, BBQ area and children's park (all of which are a 3 and a half minute walk from our home) for residents and guests....
Arabian Ranches is a really peaceful area that is quite literally 20-ish minutes from everything! Friday brunching is a big thing here so you'll have lots of options to choose from. Ubers are aways dotted about so you'll catch one within 5 minutes. We are opposite a picturesque lake which is perfect for relaxing walks. Arabian Ranches has a supermarket, restaurants, beauty salons and a golf course. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Bear has 2x 30-40 minute walks a day, morning and evening. She loves cuddles and treats (only ones provided). She is very gentle with people and children but not great with other dogs so we walk her either around the lake at off peak times (5am-7am and 9:30pm-11pm) or just around the community at any time.
She is fed twice a day (8-8:30am and 6:30-7pm), half a tin of meat (once opened, kept in fridge) and 1 and a half handfuls of dog biscuits.
Bear is a really easy going dog, she sleeps in her bed on the floor in the Master bedroom, she may jump on the bed for a quick cuddle before bed but will get down if you say 'down'.
Under no circumstances can she be let out the front door without a lead on, otherwise she may wonder off....
Bear is our main priority, however we would like the house to be kept the way is it found i.e. tidy and hoovered. + More info
