16th century house in tranquil 2 acre garden with Charlie, the cat.
I have had a chequered career, from secretary to the last 19 years running my home as a bed and breakfast. My main occupation since retiring is the garden which is open under the National Garden Scheme and my job as chief slave to Charlie, the cat.
Our Home & Location
Copyhold Hollow is two miles from Lindfield, Haywards Heath railway station, Cuckfield, Balcombe and Ardingly. No immediate neighbours and surrounded by woodland, the 16th century house with later additions is in a north-facing hollow. So sunshine in the summer months but not a sun-trap. The garden is steep in places but the area around the house is flat and there is a drive. Sitters will need a motor car or be keen cyclists. This area has several well known gardens and Sissinghurst is only one and a quarter hours away by car. The Bluebell Railway is about 6 miles away and Brighton, on the coast, is about 15 miles. London is 45 minutes by train.
Responsibilities & Pets
I have one cat, Charlie, male about 5 years old who is free to come and go as he pleases. Quite a lot of plant pots to water - say an hour every 3rd day. Otherwise, just to enjoy my home, feed Charlie and give him some company, please.
