Pretty period cottage in Roald Dahl's village, home to a pair of cheeky terriers!

Introduction
We are a family of five, including our beloved terriers Sydney and Aussie! Our older daughter works in Oxford and our 11 year old goes to the village primary school. Daddy is a home husband, whilst I am an estate agent, working in London and across the south and south east.
We have had a house sitter before who sadly moved out of the area. As a vetinary nurse she doted on Sydney, named after my favourite global city! Aussie has recently joined the clan as our younger daughter's birthday present and is a delightful and friendly puppy. Sydney and Aussie have already formed a strong bond and give us much amusement and entertainment with their play! Being terriers they do have their moments and can be very vocal barkers, as well as sometimes feisty in their rough and tumble. Good walking = Good behaviour!...
We find that confident sitters either couples or singles who know terriers and are experienced with dogs are ideally suited! Sadly we are not suitable for other pets as the dogs are fairly territorial on home ground, so similarly we don’t accept children.
We travel often to visit family and friends across the UK and overseas and it is not always appropriate to take Sydney and Aussie. Having shared our home with previous sitters, their feedback was so positive we are keen to share the opportunity again!

Our Home & Location
We own a charming period cottage with a lovely private cottage garden, on the edge of Roald Dahl's home village, in the heart of the Chilterns, surrounded by beautiful walks. The cottage has a very generous ground floor of study, sitting room with working fireplaces (great after winter walks!), cosy kitchen with a baby Aga and a large and light dining room with a vaulted, beamed ceiling, leading directly onto the private, dog proofed south facing garden. Each housesitter has use of their own ground floor, private bathroom with shower and a first floor double bedroom, with pretty eaves. The ground floor utility room is both laundry and home to the dogs!
The village has boutique cafes, restaurants, great pubs, shops and a supermarket, as well as a direct train to London Marylebone (39 minutes). Having made Great Missenden his home, Roald Dahl’s legacy means the Roald Dahl Museum and yummy cafe are a highlight of our High Street. The Peterley Farm Shop at the top of our Lane is a vital source of fresh fruit and vegetables and it’s Wild Strawberry cafe, in its own yurt, is well worth a visit. Having London on our doorstep means that we are able to enjoy easy access to all it has to offer, alongside comfortable drives (30 minutes) to London Heathrow. This has helped alot of our our international sitters because of its close convenience....
We have lovely neighbours on three sides who are all friends and we can walk into the village in around 15 minutes. Excellent local pubs are within five minutes walk! We also have the lovely local Prestfield arboretum which is a favourite local walk, across the fields!

Responsibilities & Pets
Looking after our loving, bouncy Sporting Lucas terriers. Sydney, a neutered dog. 11 years old and Aussie, a neutered puppy, 1 year old (August 2018). This lovely breed is known for its caring and affectionate nature and is easily at home with long or short walks. Known for their 'talkative nature' they are a constant source of amusement and fun. They do bark and can be very verbal on greeting visitors, but settle quickly, generally once ignored and they settle themselves!
