Housesitter who is willing to look after our gorgeous young cats in the beautiful city of Bath
We have a good sized house within 25 minute walk of Bath City centre and retired 3 years ago after over 40 years as nurses in the NHS. We recently acquuired two lovely cats from a rescue centre after being born by caesarian due to the mothers inability to give birth. We had had a year off from having cats after having three for over 20 years. The last of these died in 2016 aged 21 years. The house seemed empty without a cat so we now have Leo and Lola who are delightful. We have a son in Australia who we visit regularly and also travel on occassions more locally. We have a lovely set of neighbours who have often looked after our cats but as they are still young we felt they would be much happier with some company who will make a bit of a fuss of them. It is for this reason we thought we would use trustedhousesitters.
We are very used to having others in the house as we regularly have foreign language students staying with us so very happy with the idea of someone else being here.
Our Home & Location
Bath is a beautiful Georgian city with a lot to do and see if you havent been here before. There are also many walks which can be easily accessed from the house - the Cotswold way passes very close to the house and there are many beautiful villages around Bath such as Lacock, and Castle Coombe as well as good access to the Somerset levels and Wells and Glastonbury. Bristol is only 12 minutes by train or 30 minutes by bus and generally good transport links exist from Bath.
In the immediate locality of our house are several shops and restaurants including a very good Thai restaurant 5 minutes from home. Neighbours are very friendly and very helpful - most of us have lived in this quiet street for many years.
Responsibilities & Pets
The cats would require feeding and generally looking after. If they were to become ill we would expect them to be taken to the vet which we would leave details of. We would ask that sitters slept in the house for the agreed period although we have very good neighbours who would be able to help out for odd days if required. For example it may be that you wanted to return home or go somewhere for a day or so and this would not be a problem. We would leave details about general house management such as where utilities can be switched on and off but would not expect anyone to do anything other than leave the house in the condition they found it. We would have access to phones, email and WhatsApp etc in the event of any queries and happy to rceive contact whilst away. Unfortunately we can't accommodate dogs.
