Devoted Dog Owner Seeks similarly devoted K9 adorers to care for her fur babies!
Hi my name is Stephanie and I have lived in the beautiful city of Bath nearly all my life.
I am a devoted Mum to Dennis & Ted the Cockapoos (10 & 7 yrs old). I travel a lot and up until now have used dog sitters in their homes but heard about trusted housesitters from a friend who raves about the fact you can have someone in your own home which is so much better for my dogs! What a fantastic idea....
My two boys are amazingly well behaved and very loving. Dennis likes a good old bark at anyone who comes through the gate especially the postman! I have had both of my boys since puppies and they are very in tune with me and my strict routine for exercise and diet.
They get a lot of love and affection but have to be below me in pack order so they know who’s boss! They seem to thrive on it!
Dennis is like a human with fur who just wants love and affection 24/7 and Ted is like my shadow and follows me around hoping we will go on an adventure with his tennis ball every hour (we only go twice a day sadly for him!)
I’m a Personal Trainer with my own business so they are never left alone for more than 4 hours and this is very important to me. They also get two walks a day every day of between half an hour to two hours depending on my schedule. + More info
Our Home & Location
I live 15 minutes walk from the city centre of beautiful Bath so am extremely lucky. Bath is a heritage city with absolutely stunning architecture, restaurants, theatre, shops not to mention incredible countryside right here. My house would suit adults (couples, friends or a single person) as it is split level and open plan so not suitable for children It has amazing views over the valley and the Solsbury Hill that Peter Gabriel wrote a famous song about you can see from the bedroom window! I live in a very peaceful Cul De sac at the end house so very private and very quiet. My neighbours are all lovely people who know us well. I have a 3 storey town house with 3 bedrooms and lots of open space. There is wifi, TV with Sky and tv downstairs too. Sonos music system, fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and lots of outdoor seating. It is my pride and joy and I’m a very tidy house proud person so would expect the same in anyone who stayed here. I love to cook & my kitchen has all you need to do just that. Bath is built on 7 hills so if you get the views you also have to be up high so everyone who lives or comes here realises if you come down you have to go back up! wouldn't suit people with disability or unfit for walking.
My garden is enclosed with seating areas at front and back with sun and shaded areas. There is parking on the road outside for cars....
Bath Abbey, Pump Rooms, Assembly Rooms, the Spa, Parade Gardens, Holborn Museum and The American Museum are all well worth a visit locally. There is also a local bus which runs 7 days a week from end of road into the city centre. The National Trust village Lacock is 20 mins away as is Castle Combe village. Bristol is 12 miles and only 10 minute train journey away.
You can walk to open countryside from my front door and walk the valleys of Bath and Charlcombe for miles. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
I have a very structured schedule for my dogs. They go for a walk every morning and late afternoon. I usually walk from my house for one walk and then drive to local woodland or open fields for second walk where I take a ball and tennis racket for Teds athletic adventures! They eat twice a day and only have treats after their walk that I would provide. I also add fresh veg to their food once a day of broccoli, cabbage, carrots and beans or whatever I’m eating in way of veggies.
They don’t usually go to toilet in garden as get walked regularly but they go out for a ‘busy’ before bedtime! They sleep downstairs in the Kitchen with door closed. I’m the evenings I allow them to sleep on sofa with me to watch tv or listen to music. They have special blankets for this to protect my sofa....
They are both very well trained. Dennis is more nervous than Ted and the postman won’t come in gate if he is loose as he barks so ferociously it scares him! The funny thing is he’s the softest K9 around! They both go vocally nuts if anyone comes to door so I put them downstairs until I open door I’m these circumstances. They are very good guard dogs!
They sit and wait for food and also give their paws on command. Ted is also my little shadow and seems to prefer men over women so as soon as a man is present he starts to follow him! They are both adorable boys and my pride and joy!
I also have a well established garden in way of plants and flowers and during Summer months would want the gardens to be kept watered so as to care for my plants too! + More info
