Someone to look after my cats and keep them company whilst I am away
I am retired and live alone with my two cats. I live in an inner city terraced house, with small garden, to which the cats have access via a cat door, so they are free-range. I usually get someone to come in and feed the cats if I am away for a few days, but they get lonely and are happier with company.
I am going away this summer for my daughter’s wedding.
Our Home & Location
I live in a 3-bedroom Victorian terraced house with a small garden, in an inner city area of Bristol, south of the river. My road is is just off North Street, which is a lively area with a variety of independent shops, coffee shops and restaurants, and is a 20-30 minute walk from the centre of Bristol and the harbour. There is also a regular bus service into town. The mainline railway station, Bristol Temple Meads is around 30 minutes walk. I do not own a car - parking is on-road and subject to permits, which can be provided if required. I have a bicycle which will be available to use.
The house has 3 bedrooms (two double, one single), newly fitted shower room, through living room and dining kitchen with an Everhot (aga-type electric range cooker). There is no central heating but I have a woodburning stove in the living room.
Responsibilities & Pets
Look after cats, including feeding, litter tray, companionship and entertainment. Also administration of medication if necessary. Maintain small garden and keep house clean and tidy. Cats have a cat door for access to the outside, and have free access to the whole house, however my older cat (Coco) is about to undergo a front leg amputation, so will need a bit more assistance and attention.
