Pet Sitter Needed in Totterdown, Bristol, 3 Gorgeous Cats 3-12/5
Hi, I'm looking for honest, reliable, kind non-smoker/s to look after my 3 cats and home in Totterdown, Bristol UK from 3/5-12/5
Our Home & Location
My apartment is in Totterdown, South Bristol, less than a mile from Temple Meads train station. It will be effectively a 1 bedroom apartment during the house sit, with a generous double bedroom with a small double bed and an ensuite shower room. (The flat is actually a 2/3 bedroom maisonette, but 1 bedroom on each floor won’t be available).
The kitchen lounge diner, bedroom and bathroom are one set of stairs from the entry on the first floor. The cats will have access to these stairs and the stairs to the 2nd floor landing, so there may be a bit of chasing cats up and down stairs if you need to get hold of them (although I will leave a laser pointer to help with this).
There’s a one-bedroom flat below the apartment which is separate and may be tenanted....
The Living Area:
There’s a 15 m² combined kitchen lounge diner with a 2 seater sofa and a small round glass dining table and 2 dining chairs. The whole apartment has recently been renovated with white painted wooden floors and neutral walls, however, unfortunately the finish hasn't come out anywhere near as good as I hoped for and it is a bit rough and ready in places.
The kitchen has an electric ceramic hob, a single oven, a washer dryer, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. It has fairly convincing imitation wood laminate worktops and the appliances are all built-in.
Central heating is via a gas combi boiler in the ensuite bathroom which has just had a gas safety certificate.
** The boiler is currently only working for heating, not hot water, but there are electric showers available.**
The house is fitted with smoke alarms.
Entry to the flat is via a small lane/driveway off a street perpendicular to Bath Road. The small backyard is bitumenised. It dips in the middle and unfortunately collects water here. I'm trying to find a solution to this.
There's Virgin 300 fibre Internet, freeview TV and a DVD player. Water, Council tax and Internet are included free of charge.
Electricity and gas are by key and card meter respectively. I’ll leave £50 on the electric meter and £20 on the gas, which should cover these easily.
The house is within walking distance of local shops, a fantastic cafe/restaurant/bar (Bocabar: http://bristol.bocabar.co.uk/) and bus routes into the city and the main bus route to Bath.
The apartment is on a main road (Bath Road), but your bedroom is at the back of the house. There is a dedicated parking space, although it's a bit of a tight squeeze - I haven’t personally tried it yet, so I'm not sure how tight). + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
I have 3 neutered male cats, Farra, who is 8 years old and Raffa and Stokey, both 4 years old. They're very affectionate and love to have a comfy lap to lie in. If possible, I'd prefer somebody who will be around the house quite a bit on at least some days, as the cats are very sociable and are used to company.
Their kitty litter tray needs cleaning/scooping daily and completely changing every 5 days or so. I feed them breakfast, lunch, tea and supper (pet food from a can or sachet). Farra is allergic to a lot of cat foods, so I feed him an allergy safe tinned cat food separately to the other cats. All cat food is provided. Their 2 water dishes need changing once a day....
The cats are indoor only cats and need to be kept in the living area and the 2 staircases to the ground and first floors. There’s a hall door just inside the front door before the staircase up to the kitchen/lounge and bedroom on the first floor.
Please don’t let the cats into the bedroom, as unfortunately Raffa has a tendency to widdle on beds and other textiles he doesn’t recognise the smell of.
When you first arrive at the house, I'll stick around for an hour or two's overlap just to help the cats get used to you before I head out the door.
No payment is offered. + More info
