Sarah and Joe
We are a married couple with no children, who love to travel but also love animals. These two things don't always go well together, but we're hoping to find people who want to live with our pets as much as we do, and enjoy living in our house. We work at the University and in I.T. Sarah is vegan and Joe is vegetarian.
Our Home & Location
Our house has two bedrooms, however, one is set up as an office. It is upside down so the living areas are all upstairs and the bedroom is downstairs. The bathroom is upstairs and the bedroom is downstairs so it's not the best set up if you have some mobility issues as you'll need to come upstairs to use the bathroom overnight. We have a very comfy king sized bed downstairs. We also have a low maintenance garden upstairs. The house is on a quiet street in Clifton, 2 minutes from Clifton Down Shopping Centre and Whiteladies Road where there are lots of restaurants and bars. It is a student area however, so although our road is very quiet during the day, sometimes there can be noise from students coming home in the evening, this doesn't bother us at all and we rarely notice it, but it is worth mentioning. We have no adjoining neighbours, so it's the quietest place we've ever lived in Bristol. It is a 10 minute bus journey to the centre of Bristol. We love our house but realise the layout may not be for everyone.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have friends that can look after the dogs most of the times we go away, so usually you wouldn't need to worry about them, as they are the most difficult (in terms of needing to be home more, and walking them etc). For the Oct trip they are likely to go and stay with our friends. They are very friendly though, if you did want to look after them as well.
The 2 cats are typical cats so eat and sleep and need a lap to sit on but that's about it. They are indoor cats, but are allowed in the garden if it's hot (they shouldn't be able to get out, by you'll need to keep one eye on Oz as he is an elderly wannabe escape artist sometimes!)....
The chinchilla is also easy to look after as we'll make sure his house is clean, so you'll just need to top up his food and water every few days and put his sand bath in every now and then.
The chickens might sound daunting but they are the easiest! They want to be let out into their run in the morning, they stay in the run all day and put themselves to bed just before sundown, then you just need to close the coop door. We've had them for a year and no issues with foxes because of where our garden is. Their coop will be cleaned so you'll just need to open and close the coop and top up food and water. You will also need to collect the fresh eggs daily which you are welcome to eat!
2 small fish that need a couple of flakes a day - very low maintainance.
The most important thing to us is that the animals are happy and well cared for. + More info
