Four cats need feeding & strokes in the buzzing city of Bristol, UK
Hi, we are Anna and David, a charity CEO and marketing manager respectively. We live in the beautiful city of Bristol, which we love, but occasionally go on holiday and need someone to take care of our four cats. We love food and music and moved to Bristol in 2017 because it has a great food and music scene!
Our Home & Location
We live in Bristol, about 20 minutes drive from the city centre, or the countryside in the other direction. The local pub and Co-op and bus stop are 3 minutes walk away and buses into the centre are every 5 - 10 minutes. The house is a 3 bedroom semi in a quiet close, and the house sitter would have the spare double bedroom (more beds available if more than 1/2 people). There is a driveway for car parking and a fairly private garden with a lawn and decking. There is one upstairs bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is a comfortable lounge area, a TV which is connected to the xBox (no TV aerial, we get everything through the internet), a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. We are vegan so request that house sitters are vegetarian in the house - please could you confirm that this is okay when you apply for the sit. There is a family of 3 squirrels in the loft, so don't be alarmed if you hear the patter of tiny paws. The squirrels are called June, Terry and Barry Nutkins, in case you see them in the garden.
Responsibilities & Pets
Charlie needs his tummy tickling several times a day. He likes a cuddle too.
Sooty requires persuading to come and eat twice a day, as she is a diva....
Smudge has an over active thyroid and needs a pill twice a day. He is reasonably good at taking it, but if you struggle you can crush it on his food.
Suzie is about 100 years old according to the vet. We adopted her from a rescue and she is much less feral now. She is a sweetheart really and loves a head rub, but if startled will go for you, due to years living on the streets. However she has no strength and doesn't move quickly, so an experienced cat carer will have no problems with her. She needs medication rubbing in her ear twice a day (she won't take pills but likes an ear rub) and is on special food. She has an over active thyroid and early stage kidney disease. She needs feeding at least twice a day. She has a litter tray for her exclusive use. The others have a cat flap.
Apart from that, please just pick up the post and water the (few) plants and that's it! Feel free to explore Bristol, Bath and the south west! Cats can be left alone for 12 hrs per day. + More info
