1 yr old energetic puppy seeking loving care in renovated countryside home
We are Nick and Hannah, a young professional couple in our 30s. We work in property and marketing respectively, and live in our wonderful, recently renovated, country house in a small Berkshire village. We have a baby boy, Ted, born in July 2018.
We travel quite a bit and having had a poor experience with kennels, want someone to sit our gorgeous & friendly dog, Charlie, in the comfort of familiar surroundings at home.
Our Home & Location
Our 5 bedroom home is large and recently renovated, featuring an open-plan living room/kitchen/dining, wonderful ensuite guest bedroom (for you to stay in). Lots of sunlight - we are south facing! We have a large walled garden and immediate access to country paths for dog walking. Our village is very safe and friendly - it's a nice quiet spot. With that in mind, a car is needed - our village is quite remote (although only 12 mins to the nearest supermarket, Waitrose, 5 mins to the nearest village shop, 10 mins to an amazing farm shop in Ashampstead and a we have fantastic coffee shops and pubs in neighbouring villages.) Parking is in our driveway. Our house has electronic gates and the large walled garden is dog proof. We are on the edge of the village, but with 3-4 immediate neighbours within walking distance. Nearest train station is Theale (15 mins) with direct trains to Reading and London.
Responsibilities & Pets
Primarily we want a sitter to look after Charlie, our dog. He is very sociable and loves human attention.
We want him loved and cared for whilst we are away. This includes feeding him 2 x times a day, walking him at least once a day (c. 1 hr- 1hr 30 mins) and ensuring he gets out into the garden for the toilet! He's a good travel companion and loves being in the car should you want to go out/ visit the area, plus he is fine to be left up to 4 hours if needed. If our house is well looked after (and plants watered) then we are also happy - but Charlie is our no 1 requirement. Charlie is 1 year old and progressing well with training - we would leave detailed instructions on how to manage him on/off the lead, so he gets consistency in his training. He's not hard to handle, and is totally soft - a gorgeous friendly pup with lots of energy.
