House and dog sitter needed near Cambridge for a weekend in March and 3 weeks March/April
We are a family of four looking for a house and pet sitter for our two much-loved, gentle dogs, a laidback Golden Retriever and a fun-loving Flatcoated Retriever and two rabbits.
We will be away for the weekend of the 11-12 March and then for 3 weeks in from 19 March to 10 April....
It would be ideal, but not essential, if the same person could undertake both sits. + More info
Our Home & Location
We are situated in a rural location midway between Cambridge and Newmarket (Ignore the 'approximate location' shown on the map!) Both Cambridge and Newmarket have lots to see and do and other interesting nearby towns include Ely and Bury St Edmunds.
There are lots of good walks near by and we have bikes you can use. Anglesey Abbey ( National Trust) is a nearby attraction. There is a swimming pool and gym two miles away.
We are gradually renovating the house so you will need to be relaxed about this, but this does not impact on the comfort or facilities.
Your room has an en suite loo and shower.
WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher etc.
We have bikes you can borrow, but if you want to get out and about ideally you would benefit from having your own transport.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main responsibility is caring for our much loved dogs. We have a Golden Retriever aged 10 and a 3 year old Flatcoated Retriever who still thinks she' s a puppy.
Both dogs love going for walks and we are located in a position where you can walk for miles without going on any roads. Our young flatcoat likes lots of attention and play. She also needs a close watch to make sure she doesn't eat anything she shouldn't! (especially socks...!) For this reason I would ask you to try not to leave them alone for long periods (over 5 hours)
The rabbits just need feeding twice a day and cleaning out.
Plants and garden need watering, unless it rains!
