Hi. We would like to use house sitters, as we feel that our dogs would benefit from being in their own home, whilst we are away. We live in a lovely house in rural North Essex, that is a special place to spend time in.
Our Home & Location
We live in a lovely listed thatched cottage in Ashen, in rural north Essex. We are lucky to have a beautiful large garden with a huge pond and we also have chickens. The countryside around us is peaceful and there are many quiet walks nearby. Clare is only two miles away and there are many pubs and other places to visit. Even though our house is old, it is very modern inside, with central heating and luxury bathroom. We also have an Aga (electric) in the kitchen. In the summer, you can spend all day in our big hammocks under the trees, sunbathing on the patio, or cooking in the wood-fired oven. We have plenty of secure off-street parking, behind an electric gate. We love living here with our dogs and have been very happy in this wonderful house.
Ideally, we are looking for a UK - based sitter. Unfortunately, because we have a deep pond and steep stairs in the house, the property is not suitable for children.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our dogs like to have at least one walk a day. Due to their breeds, they must always be walked on the lead and never let off, unless they are in the garden, which is very secure and where they can run free. They are very easy to look after and always enjoy a stroke or a cuddle. They are not aggressive in any way and are very easy to feed. They will literally do anything for cheese. They love company, but are very happy to be left alone for up to four hours on their own and are no trouble in the house. The house is super-easy to live in, with all modern appliances and is totally secure and safe. Apart from walking, feeding and clearing up after the dogs, there is nothing left to do. The chickens need corn each day and the fish in the pond need a handful of food every day.
