Cat and House sitter a few days
We need someone to house and cat sit for us as we tend to travel and go away a lot on short trips. We've got 3 (needy) cats who love cuddles and attention. My boyfriend and I live here and work together as a creative duo, Joe and Charlotte Creative Studio, we are home a lot so I guess the cats are a little spoilt. They have a self opening and locking cat flap so they would just need to be fed morning and evening and fussed. It would be good for the house to be looked after too as my boyfriend has a lot of plants that he'd like to be watered. It would also give us peace of mind when we are away that someone is frequently in the house.
Our Home & Location
We are both creatives which reflects in the home we live in, it's full of art and lots of inspirational bits pieces we've collected on our travels. As we work from home a lot we have a studio in the front room which you are more are welcome to work in too. Please make yourself at home, you are welcome to use anything we have, food, DVDs, books, anything you fancy. We have a long garden with a balcony area and a little pond. It's very peaceful and lovely to chill out/ eat breakfast etc if the weathers good. We have a very long driveway too so no need to park your car in the road even though there is plenty of road space.
We live in Hadleigh, Essex. This is a 40 minute train journey to East London. The nearest station is Leigh-on-Sea which is a 5 minute car journey and you can park on the hill near the station for free after 10am, 5 minute bus ride from the top of the road or a 20 minute walk away. Our town is right on the Thames estuary so very close to Leigh on sea and Southend on sea. Walks to Haleigh Castle are recommended, or catching the train to London for sightseeing.
Responsibilities & Pets
We would need the cats to be fed morning and evening, litter tray emptied once a day in the morning, and their water changed too. I like to know the cats will be in the house in the morning so not to leave the windows open after the cat flap locks at midnight, only if it's a crack or the top windows are fine. The cat flap opens again at 7am. Minnie, the smallest clingiest cat, unfortunately has epilepsy, which is another reason she is very clingy. She rarely has fits at all any more, she's not on any medication either as they aren't that frequent. We have no idea what triggers them but it's just more something you should be aware of. They only last a minute or so, any longer than 3 mins she'll need to be taken to the vets, but that's never happened. If she has had a fit she maybe be wobbly, docile, dribbly and a little disorientated. These effects usually only last an hour or so and then she's back to normal. But this is very rare, I think her last fit was February. We always leave Vets4Pets number too which is 5 mins down the road.
Other than that, just the plants to be watered. Then the house is yours to feel at home in, the cats will definitely help with that as they do like a fuss and a play if you get a chance.
